Me and a couple of my buddies are looking to get into something a little different and a little less resource intensive as warhammer/40k.

Going through different games we have narrowed it down to Dust Warfare or MERCS.

Any suggestions on either of these games?

How much do you need for Dust?

Does Infinity have rules for campaigns?

Yes, sir, it does!

I actually don't think Dust is a bad game. I'm just not a huge fan of Battlefront, the people that now distribute it.

They're getting ready to do a KS, I believe.

I'd hold off on MERCS until A) they release the 2nd Ed rules, and B) The Board Game comes out because you'll be able to pick up your models for cheaper.

I think you will have more success pulling other people into dust. I am a huge fan of their walkers, and the infantry paint up nicely as well.

Option D (or whatever) if you're looking at weird war 2 is to wait till the September Secret of the the Third Reich 2 release.

I would prefer MERCS. Really nice models and very tactical, it's not distributed by BF either so the prices are actually cheaper than GW.

Is that Battlefront's fault, or is that the fault of the manufacturer? While I haven't played Dust, did the prices change when BF took over distribution from FFG?

Dust has a kickstarter launching today. It is really more of a pre-order since they have all of the molds made as I understand it, so that could really decrease the price of entry depending on how good of deals they offer.

Helpful link here -

On a related note, I had to dig the link up through Dust's front page. I initially made the mistake of trying to find it by searching through Kickstarter, and found that to be completely undoable. Their website is much worse than I remember, with horrible formatting, and a lack of an easily searchable format (the only search I could conduct was for cities; there's a magnifying glass icon at the top of the page, but it didn't do anything when I clicked on it). If I were conducting a crowd funding project through Kickstarter, I'd be making all sorts of noise right about now regarding how hard it would be for people to find my project even if they knew the project's name.

last time I looked [a few weeks ago], they were about £5 for each plastic miniature, so I blame battlefront.
