I was going to equip my Sergeant with a Melta Bomb and I was wondering if that is something that would normally be mounted around the waist area, like a grenade or belt? Looking around the web I haven't had much luck finding examples, I mean I know I can do it...but what would be the best way to do it in terms of lore and fluff?

To sum it up....how do you mount your Melta bombs on Space Marines? In the hand, on the waist, or something else altogether?

Cheers

Hand or waist depending on pose, hand if you want him looking like hes ready to plant, waist for all others

Excellent, waist was my first choice. Going to mount it like that, I have a perfect spot for it. Now I just have to figure out what color to paint it.

You can have it magnetised on the base so you can run it wysiwyg with or without it.

Hip for sure.

It's all in the rolls.

I always used to stick them horizontally on their lower back beneath the torso (the flat surface on the seat of their pants)
That way its like it's mag-locked to their back where they can simply reach around and grab the handle.
I started doing this as I found most other positions to be awkward or in the way.

Xendarc seems to be on to something... That is good. Damn good.

It's all in the rolls.

I'd personally mount it on the shelf.

Meltabombs have the issue of being unreasonably bulky to place as bits. You can't have it at his hip flanks because he wouldn't be able to hold it, so you have to try to have it around his back.

If you wanna be original, I'd suggest clipping off the two auxiliary vents on one side of his backpack and placing the meltabomb there.
