Hey Dakka, so I'm relatively certain this is only applicable to characters and IC with to-hit rolls of 6, but people at the LGS have been saying ANY model (with 6's to hit or not) can allocate their attacks to any model(s) in the combat.
I.E Swarm Lord's controlling player decides to allocate all hits on an IC (only one unit is engaged; a command squad and an IC that is attached to them).
Now, I don't remember if the Swarm Lord is a character, but say he isn't (for arguments sake) he can't do that, can he? It's models in B2B first (my choice with multiple) going outwards, right?
If it is a character; he needs 6's on to-hit rolls, correct?
I can't find anywhere.
Thanks in advance, guys and girls.

You are correct, with one addenda - models in btb with models fighting at that unit step.

The rule allowing someone to allocate CC hits is called "Precision Strikes". Only characters have this ability normally, and it requires a To Hit roll of 6.

In order for a non-character to be able to do this, they would need a special rule allowing it, or a piece of wargear that allows it.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Thanks. I kept thinking it was a precision shot (I realise that's shooting, now.)

I haven't picked up my rulebook in a few weeks, let alone had a game.
It's just something that I remember happening a lot and was trying to figure out before I go and play again this Saturday.

Thanks again, both of you.
