So, here's a question. I posted a couple of posts in a thread which got deleted last night.

When that happens, will it roll our post count back?

Generally not, it depends on which method of deletion is used.

Is that where the other count comes into it? Not really deleted but archived somewhere?

You can see how many posts you have in the invisible area by viewing your profile and checking the posting area frame for "Other". There is a post count in there so if you remember what your previous count was you can determine the result from that.

The 'other' count covers forum sections that you don't have access to. So DCM posts in the DCM-specific forums will appear to non-DCMs as 'Other'.

There is also the occasional thread that gets moved into the Mod area for review. Any posts in those threads will also come up as 'Other'.

The post count difference comes down to whether we delete each individual post in the thread, or just delete the whole thread. Deleting an individual post drops the poster's count. Deleting a thread doesn't.
