I'm wanting to go with a painting scheme sorta like that, just wondering how I could achieve this effect? I don't have an airbrush at the moment.

to what efect are you referring? I'm afraid if you don't already know how FW got its model to look like that, I don't think you're anywhere near the level that you'd be able to just paint it how they did.

Was there something you wanted to know about the job in particular?

It wouldn't be super hard to do something similar to what FW have done. Although having an airbrush would certainly make it heaps easier, especially consider there has been preshading done to that model.

You would need to use a black primer, and then a base coat of your colour choice with another spray can. Then they have used a number of weathering pigments and oil washes to get effect.

I believe that Malcador is also in one of the FW masterclass books.

Edit ~ I just check my FW books, there is a malcador in there, but it is a Krieg one. However there is a Renegade Medusa how to that might interest you

Also I think the painter used the forge world weathering pigments.

Winter, could you tell me which master class book has the Medusa?

It looks like a Zandri dust Basecoat with colour modulation and then a couple of pigment and enamel effects.

Your best bet is that GW used GW paints; and FW used FW pigments.

No, I think FW painters are allowed to use anything they like, not just GW.

Yup, loads of the Heresy range seems to involve Tamiya paints.
