I can't remember if its just captains and chapter masters or if it is all HQ's on bikes? Also has anyone run a biker list that doesn't use the white scars chapter tactics?

it's both chapter masters and captains on bikes that make bike units of 5+ troops. I have seen a salamanders and an iron hands biker army. neitehr were as good as white scars, then again, bikes are kind of the scars deal

Iron hands have the potential to make a hitty beatstick chapter master on a bike, scoring t5 fnp6 bikers are the icing on that cake if you choose to run him I should say.

I’ve fielded bikes with my Ultramarines. Both as troops and as FA. Obviously there are some perks to being troops, but bikes are fine as FA picks if you don’t want a captain/CM leading your army.

There have been times where the UM CT helped. I used the re-roll snap fire dev doctrine to use a melta bike squad to shoot down a heldrake. 3 shots up in the air (2 melta, one MM) with the re-roll got me the hit I needed. Not a trick that White Scars can pull off, although I will grant it’s a situational thing.

But if you are running a bike heavy list, you need to ask yourself “Why am I not using WS chapter tactics.” Because they are just that good for bikes. Not that other chapter tactics don’t do something for bikes, and have their use. But the Scars really rule the roost for bikes, as it should be.

Besides white scars the big list is ravenwing. Worse in almost every way but black knights. However black knights are awesome, and rw can take 40 of them.
