Hey guys so I am brand new to 40K and I am pretty interested in Chaos deamons but I am not sure where to start or what some different routes I can take with them are. Any information or help would be awesome and really appreciated. I am just going to be playing 500 point games for awhile with my friends until we can build up bigger armies. I am really looking for fun strategies that are decent. Thanks in advance for any information.

Wait till 7 ed - it's gona change daemons alot.

I'm kinda looking at to what the main point of Daemons are. Like do they swarm or just shoot or heavy hitters or what their main army tactics are.

You want to go fluffy or competitive?

Competitive daemons are generally FMC Tzeench spam heavilly reliant on psychic powers. And psy powers are gona change greatly in like a week.

If you want to make a fun tac list, you can't go wrong with a few squads of troops, a couple MC and probably a grinder or such.

I honestly think the psychic power thing sounds pretty fun. Have there been any hints on if that's getting nerfed or buffed?

There are rumours. Psy-powers will get very close to what they are in Fantasy battle. They'll get somewhat stronger but way harder to pull off. I think that there won't be a super-caster spam as it is now. Cause the effectiveness will get diminished with the ammount of psychers you get.

But i'm sure that a couple of potent psychers will always find their place in a list. Especially, when you'll be able to summon more daemons and buff invul saves of every daemon within 12' of a caster with new Daemonology table!

Though, i think that it's not gona be a win-button but rather a valid option varying from "meh" to "not bad". What i know for sure, is that it's gona be super fun.
