Should be 1505 points my friends i play with aren't super anal about being exactly at point level or being under it so this would be ok.

Just wondering what you guys think. the boards we play on usually have lots of area terrain and big line of sight blockers in the middle of the battlefield so i think id be fine foot slogging it.

Any advice is welcome

Its not totally clear...are you running Terv as Troops?

In general, I think you are way over invested in Regen. If you saved all those points, you could add a lot more good stuff. While I like Gunfexes (Carnifexen with Heavy Cannons) Most folks will reccomend Dakkafexen (TL: Brain Leeches x2) at 150 per. If you drop all the Regen, you save 150? I would buy a Dakkafex with the savings...

Tervigon is a little overpriced, so while I like having one, two seems like a poor purchase.

I would strongly suggest a Zoey Brood (or two) for durable Synapse, and cool Powers of the Hive Mind! rolls.

A Venothrope Brood is also a very useful purchase (vs anyone except Tau

)

So I guess, on reflection, I'd spend that 150 on 2 Zoeys, and a Veno. Then spend the last 5 on an upgrade, like carapace spines...

If you drop the second Tervigon, I'd get that second Brood of Zoeys (100 pts) and a Warrior Brood: x3, Cannon for 100 (cashing in the extra 5 above)

I made some of your suggested changes but had a few questions

1. for the warriors would you suggest the venom cannon or barbed strangler?

2. is it worth taking 2 venomthropes if they have to be squaded?

I always take Strangle Cannons, because one failed pin check can really turn a game around.

I always Try to double Venos, because otherwise its a gift wrapped "first blood" for the other side.

Killing Venos is a very good tactic in any case, and one will drop pretty easily.

About the only time I consider the Venom a better buy is in a "Living Artillery" (?) Formation, the special rules give re-roll scatter, and pin to blasts. That second one normally only works for the Exocrene, so I stubbornly want the benefit for Venom Cannon as well.

I, on the other hand, really prefer the VC. I find pinning to be useless in almost every game that I play. But to each their own.
I do agree with doubling the venom squad though.
