See, I used the tags.

I was reading through the Tactical Strike rules in the HH3 book and they seem to be pretty fun ... great opportunity to forge the narrative as it were. I've been playing a lot of kill team at my local game store and Tactical Strike also offers a bunch of small unit scenarios and missions. Thinking of using this in 40K as well.

Tactical Strike is another game option that is spelled out in the HH3: Extermination book. It's used to represent the survivor elements fighting with the traitors hunting them down after the massacre. Points values are 200 - 350 and you are allowed to mix and match individual models from units.

oooo not that sounds awesome. so it really is a rag tag element fighting against a bigger army. I guess they move like in kill teams?

Models do move individually, but you can also group figures into ad-hoc units of like types (e.g., infantry can group with other infantry) to gain some of the benefits of a leader and USRs

Sounds interesting, pick'n'mix Kill Team meets Combat Patrol. I might give it a shot.

so a Legion Veteran sergeant can form a unit of tactical marines with the veteran special rules? I'm starting to like this a lot
