So back on 22nd of May, was asked in morning by my brother to do a commissioned painting of his Ministorum Priest that had recently appeared into house, and so after 4 to 6 hours later of painting, had completed the Ministorum Priest and here is the end results

Baring in mind base needs painting but main model is just to show here

Do please give honest opinions and views folks (Aiming to get a full time Commissioned Painting position soon once done my first true commission painting sometime next week )

PS. First ever time I've painted a detailed human based model

Honest opinions and views. Here goes:

Good command of colors and brush control. It could use either a layer of highlights or shading (or both) to make it pop a little. The picture may be toning down the highlights and shading, however.

The rosary attached to the book looks odd in that bright yellow color that you used on the ropes holding the book to the staff. I would have done it in silver, gold, or black. Just my opinion.

The mold lines on the arms need to be filed down prior to painting. After painting, they become really visible. That right there will discourage potential customers.

Aye the image did remove small part of highlights as chainsword had an highlight round edges of the red sections.
the main robe itself had two dry burshings or it to highlight more of the robe itself.

Did consider at first doing the rosary along the book in a gold colour, but wasn't too sure if that may of made it look slightly generic, tried to use yellow as different, but will try gold next time

final part is mold lines, never noticed them lines on his arms when checked him over before and after gluing him together.

But thank you for the comment Peredyne will take it into mind and will work from that

Rope and Aquila need work so do lenses. skull is too bright in comparison to the model, apart from that blocking is solid. You can do with using either colour or brightness to more the eye around the model, your half way there with that technique.
Id say 3/5.
Great start im sure youll be doing fantastic work in no time!!!
