Hello =)

I am painting a crisis commander and thought of trying a whole bunch of techniques i never used before on him, namely NMM, weathering/combat damage and OSL.

The idea was to have his armor plates "reflect" the light like a car for example, so some sort of "non metal metallic", just with red and white.
The red areas are finished and i painted them following a NMM tutorial. I am not sure i achieved the wanted effect, so please have a look.

If you are good at NMM or see soemthing that has gone wrong, please tell me. I want to get this straight ;P

Thank you in advance!

Like the colors and contrast. Good job on the OSL.

you need more black on the red (shadow). map out where the light is coming from and where the light part and dark part is going to be on each panel.

the dark part on each panel should be black, or near black, the brightest would be white.

something like this

black to black/red to dark red to bright red to white. all blended in between.

here's a picture to look at

good luck. after youve glazed it for 40 hours, let us know how it's coming along.
