Hello Everyone! This is my first time posting on dakkadakka. I've started to experiment on a color scheme for my Necron Warriors and Scarabs. I'd love everyone's feed back and suggestions! I'm an extreme beginner and I've only painted a handful of models. I've only just recently began to experiment with washes.

I'd like for my Necron's eyes, mouth, and chest to have some sort of glow.
These are the color's that I've tried so far.

For my Scarabs, I was thinking Red/Gold (Iron Man!) or Black/Gold.

I'm open to suggestions!

Story-wise you want your units to be a similar color scheme to signify they are from the same dynasty/tomb world. (Unless you don't care about story then forget it lol) I like the red though. Look up the Miskal Prime tomb world from DoW, gorgeous army scheme.

Your first units pretty good though man. Keep building and practicing. Don't be afraid to experiment and try new things to get what you want out of the army.

Your paints are not thin enough. Needs more wash.

I think the Necron warrior with the green works best. I know it's the standard thing, but Necron warriors are meant to be fairly standard. You could incorporate red and gold into your other units like Lycheguard or Lords etc. I think perhaps keeping the scarabs silver with some having red panels would work well.

I plan on keeping the same color scheme with all of my units. Those three guys are my experiments to see what they could look like. I'm definitely leaning towards the red though. I'll check out Miskal Prime tomb.

The guns seem a little bit off to me. I'm not sure yet. I used a grey and then an oil wash on them and then a dark brown for the handle of the gun.

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement!

I definitely want my Necron Warriors to be standard to some degree. I want the other units to stand out more and command a presence.

Silver Scarabs with red panels might look really cool. Thanks! I'll try it out tonight and see how it looks!
