So after a not so great showing at my last tourny I have decided to change things up a bit
was looking for some imput and thoughts on these two list

Rebels 1 - Lando's Assault

Lando w Nien Numb Engine upgrade
Blue Sq w Adv sensors
Blue Sq w Adv sensors

plenty of tanky and plenty of firepower, not alot of evade but with extra actions from lando i am hoping it will let me blast the opposition faster than they can blast me

Rebels 2 - Chewy Shares
Chewbacca w Engine upgrade
Garven Dreis
Biggs w R2-P9

A bit more maneuverability at the expense of some tank, still great firepower and plenty of focus to go around

let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions/lists these might struggle with

cheers

I'm keen to try the Lando's Assault list. How would you set that up?

I was thinking lando central and flanked by a b on either side
I would always try to keep one b at range one of lando to benefit from his ability
I feel that would force my opponent to focus on the duo and allow the other b to get some flanking in

Made a few tweaks to the list it now sits as

Lando w Sq Leader, Nien Numb, Weapons Eng
Blue Sq w Adv Sensors
Blue Sq w Adv Sensors

Worked this list out against a bunch of imperial lists last week. Came out on top almost every time. Lots of firepower and focusing fire mitigates the lack of mobility.

Gonna put it up against Rebel lists this week in preparation for the tourny.

Considering Recon Specialist rather than Weapons but will try out and see

The b-wings are ok, but the YT-1300 really needs some help. You're giving free actions, but you're spending 50 points on a ship with firepower that is marginal at best. If you're just going to give out free actions then you might as well drop the YT-1300 and take two more b-wings. What you actually want is Chewbacca with gunner and either expert handling or (my preference) marksmanship. You put the b-wings out in front as meatshields, while the YT-1300 has a much better chance of dealing damage every turn and not being a 50-point paperweight.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Well I played this list (minus Squad Leader, as I unaccountably overlooked it) last night against

Vader w/Concussion Missiles and Determination
Turr w/Veteran Instincts
Backstabber
Academy Pilot
Academy Pilot
Spoiler:
I lost this one but it was pretty close despite a lot of mistakes and confusion on my part.

Unfortunately, I failed to kill anything on my first turn. I was absolutely miserable with my B-Wings. After the initial joust, I pulled a short koiogran with the one to Lando's right while attempting to swing back around with the other. The plan was to leave the stressed B-Wing out while moving the YT-1300 between the other one and the TIEs pursuing it. But I misjudged the maneuver, which allowed Backstabber to masterfully line up on the exposed B-Wing before I could turn it back into the fray. The other B-Wing did its job attracting fire and managed to knock off an Academy Pilot but was in turn annihilated by Vader and Turr.

By mid game, I had lost both B-Wings with a mere Academy Pilot to show for it. Thankfully, Lando had only taken one or two hits to his shields by then. I proceeded to turn the YT-1300 back towards the center of the mat, picking off the other Academy Pilot and Backstabber on the way. But the combined firepower of Vader and Turr really started taking me apart. After some terrible rolling against Turr, my luck finally changed and I finished him off while scrambling to keep distance between us. It was down to Vader, with full shields, and Lando, with five hull points left.

Even at a major disadvantage, I figured I could still pull it out with some lucky rolling and flying. The key was the YT's 360 arc -- if only I could shake Vader's pursuit to get a turn of shooting without getting shot. In the meantime, I managed to knock him down to 2 hull points yet only had one left myself. I desperately needed to outmaneuver him and almost did. But having two actions allowed him to barrel roll in, lining Lando up with a target lock. "I have you now."

I am pretty happy with how I flew the YT-1300 but my total failure with the B-Wings more than made up for it. To my credit, this is only my second time flying a B-Wing and the first hardly counts. In that game, I was up against a guy who had been badly mauled by a B-Wing list the night before and so directed all fire, yes, six or seven TIEs' worth, at my B-Wing on turn one. So I was flying this game with pretty much no B-Wing experience.

I was really surprised by how unmaneuverable B-Wings are but I think this list can work with some better flying. As it was, I wasted pretty much all 10 or 11 points of upgrades by failing to keep in formation as planned and frankly not understanding the application of Advanced Sensors. Can someone explain Advanced Sensors to me? The best I can figure is it might be helpful to avoid collisions. Do they do something else to merit three points?

Ah, so it was explained to me that Adv. Sensors are to avoid losing your action on a red maneuver. I should have liked to have realized as much during play, as that would have made me fly the B-Wings completely differently, perhaps even competently.

Wow sounds like a great game

I have had fewer issues with poor rolling since i got new dice (the result of an unfortunate friendly touching incident)

I have had lots of luck running this list against a variety of Imperial lists but haven't been able to run it against many Rebel lists yet

Tried it last night against my son - he ran Trinity, now my dice were truly hot and his weren't but I won handily

My one real concern when facing Wedge is the fact that all the ships have only 1 evade die, which means 0 when Wedge shoots them :(

With the release of the Corvette I have been looking at the new Han Solo crew card wondering if pairing that with a weapons engineer might be good

Made a slight tweak and went with this as the final list

Lando w Nien Gunner
Blue Sq w Adv Sensors
Blue Sq w Adv Sensors

Tourny is tomorrow so I will try to get a report of some kind up by the end of the weekend

Cheers

Well ran the list at my FLGS Assault on Imdaar Alpha tourny on the weekend. Despite there only being 7 guys at the event, there was a fair mix of lists to face.

I got lucky and caught the first round bye (yay for free wins!) Second round I faced off against my friend running a double YT list, he had

Lando - Nien, PTL, Engine Upg
Chewie - Engine Upg

let me tell you, used properly those engine upgrades can make the YT out fly and interceptor. It was a fairly back and forth game, I managed to strip the shield off of both his YTs and put some damage on them both. In return he stripped the shields off my ships and put some major hurt on Lando. Turning point came when one turn he hit Lando 8(!!!!) times leaving him on 2 hits, next turn I proceeded to park Lando on an asteroid, taking a hit (of course I always roll to hit myself) and he removed Lando with his Lando. Fortunately that cost him Chewie in return. End of the game saw me with a B wing on one hit, him with Lando on one hit. I need to roll two hits with a focus to win - I roll one, next turn he shoots first and blots my last B out of the sky.... :(

Last game of the day in a bit

cheers
