How about trying "candy style" colours. Paint silver or gold, then mix a couple of drops of any colour with lahmian medium and paint over the basecoat. Hey presto... shading and highlighting done in one go

White and blue. Or egyptian colours.

Silver is ok, but so bland. (in my opinion).

Personally I think necrons look best in white.
The secondary colour on the glowy bits can be just about anything. I've seen green, red, blue. It all looks good.

Good ideas from everyone, I picked up Necron compound and a shade (nuln oil) to see how it looks together, If it turns out pretty good i'll post the results.

Necron Compound is just for dry brushing, you would be better of using some Lead Belcher then wash it with Nuln Oil then Dry brush on the Compound.

For one group of Necron Warriors, I did the classic look of silver and green. I added some rustic gold as scars on their bodies. For my second group of Necron Warriors, I made them glowing red chests and eyes with a silver body. Then I added massive amounts of rust all over their bodies.
