not sure this the right forum if not I apologize, anyway I have been hearing a lot of talk about this "green stuff" and I need to know what is it where can you get some from? cause I made a heck of a lot of conversions lately (cyborg marines daemon monsters) and they just need that final touch

Green stuff is just modeling 'clay' that you can use to sculpt additions or cover up any holes or touch up some models. You can pick some up at GW or at any hobby store. I'm sure some people can help you find cheaper and better alternatives. I hope this helps.

Green Stuff is its actual name, if that's what is confusing you. It's essentially GW brand modeling clay.

Green Stuff comes in two flavors: liquid and solid.

The liquid stuff is used for filling in cracks and dents in your models, while the solid stuff can also be used for sculpting, creating texture, ad adding fine detail.

I'm not familiar with any cheaper alternatives to GW's Green Stuff, but I'm sure there are some. Your local crafts store might be a good place to check out. I have to caution against cheap modeling clay/airdry clay for sculpting, as if you get the wrong stuff it can really become a mess and fall apart easily.

It's not a clay, strictly speaking, it's an epoxy. Greenstuff is a colloquial name for a two-part substance more formally known as kneadatite. You can find some at your local hardware store, I'm sure. Otherwise, there are a variety of hobby companies that sells the stuff. Personally, I buy mine from a company called Gale Force 9, because that's what my FLGS stocks, and I like supporting my FLGS.

Of course, it's not the only modelling epoxy. Milliput is another kind, and it's good for different kinds of things. It's also not the only modelling substance, plasticard being able to do a shockingly large swath of what greenstuff can do, while also doing other things. It just sort of depends on what you're looking for.

If you have anything more specific to ask on the subject, I'd direct you to the painting and modelling forum. That's probably going to get you better responses.

It's a sculpting epoxy putty. You can get GW branded stuff but its more expensive. Kneadatite is much cheaper. Since you are in Australia, I can personally recommend thecombatcompany.com. I'm sure others sell it as well, but the last time I bought it I got it from them. I've never seen it for sale in a hardware store, but you can get other epoxy putties from hardware stores.

If you buy the kneadatite tube rather than GW's stuff, I recommend using slightly more yellow than blue. If you look at the GW green stuff strips, they give you more yellow than blue, IMO it's easier to handle like that. I just buy the cheaper tubes and when I mix it I take a bit more yellow than blue.

"Greenstuff" is made by Polymeric Systems Inc as "blue-yellow" kneadatite (it comes in different colours). It's a two part epoxy putty that is mixed together to get differing hardnesses for sculpting or suchlike.

GW rebrand it and cut it into shorter lengths. You can get PSInc branded stuff in a 36" roll for less than GW sells their 12" pack.

And that's IN Australia. My local hobby store (NOT a games store OR a GW) sells the 36" roll for about $20AUD.

I don't know what the "liquid" GS is, as I've never used it, having access to much better (even if it does require more in the way of safety) stuff.

Hi Scorpionov.

I get mine from Combat Company as was listed above.

Big roll of it delivered fast for $14.99 or from GW it is $17 for two small strips.

It's far superior value than GW's labelled version of the same product. Much the same as their magic glue.
