I have scoured the new book and can't find any of the fortifications from 6th, does this mean that aegis is no longer in the game?

It's in Stronghold Assault.

Are the fortifications that are in the 6th BRB all the same in the stronghold assault? namely ADL?

Not all are the same (Firestorm Redoubt, for example, had a few changes with Stronghold Assault).

The ADL rules are the same.

However, there are upgrades to Fortifications that can be purchased in Stronghold Assault that you can only find in that book.
