Hey guys,

To put it blunt I have had enough of GW paints, the actual product is good but the pots are shocking! I have just started painting some stuff up after a couple of weeks and 3 of my new pots are dried up. Lids are nice and clean but the paint is like rubber inside. I have pots dating back to 1992 that are still as fresh as the day I purchased them!

Now my question is (after I got that off my chest) do Vallejo make paints that match the new GW colour range? For example paints like Russ Grey?

Cheers

Dave

The game colour range was designed to imitate the colours of the old GW range, not sure about the new paints though.

You won't get everything to match completely but not far off. I use a mixture of GW,Vallejo and various other brands thus getting the best of all worlds

Paint compatibility chart including the new GW range. It's based off of GWs claims of colour matching to their old range which is suspect.

Also make sure you see the link at the very bottom of that page.

I transferred all my GW paints into dropper bottles i bought at a reasonable price from eBay. I really hate GW's flip cap design. So do mostly everybody i come into contact with. Makes you wonder why they haven't dumped them. But yeah, look at the compatibility chart for specifics.

Switch now and you'll never look back. I speak from experience. Everytime a pot dries out, a GW accountant gets their wings.

Business decision to increase sales is likely imo - the already low volume (12 ml compared to standard 17ml+) dries out faster and more is wasted during usage than with bottles.
