Hey guys, gonna start my marine army up again - this time using Red Scorpions Chapter Tactics! It's mainly a Drop List, which I think is gonna be the new "go to" list like bikes was.

Tactics are fairly simple, Command Squads + Tac Squads come T1. The Librarian w/ the Shield Eternal is pretty much there to not die.

Any tips would be great! I'm hoping for this list to be for tournaments, so harsh criticism would be awesome.

All those melta guns would be good if parking lot IG/Imperial Knights were all over your meta, but MCs (Riptides and Wraithknights in particular) would give this list a very hard time. The second librarian seems like a throw-away to get another command squad, and won't do very much (coming from personal experience.) The main command squad could use an apothecary as well.

I would drop the librarian and command squad for a Sternguard squad with 4 combi-plasma or melta. It is 20 points more expensive but you don't pay the librarian tax, and then you can buy your other squad an apothecary and have access to 2+ poison guns wraith knights.

A few other things that could be done for an alpha strike list.... 4 wolfguard (space wolf veterans) in a drop pod with 4 combi-melta is only 127 points. Rune priests (depending on the 7th FAQ/errata) could reign king supreme as the ultimate counter to the new psychic phase. Something to consider.

One of your command squads needs to be 5 flamers. You have too much melta. I would also recco cullin or loth. They are extra squishy! I run the two command squads in drop pods as an auto include and let me tell you that it is glorious with the flamers!

What gets obnoxious is the guy who always says "that would be cool if they were salamanders" It wipes a squad and I was supposed to wipe it harder?

anyhow that list looks great but the TFC gets so old. You have this mobile list of denial with an anchor. LOTH is there to not die. A warp charge for a 2up inv that you dont have to roll for. Stalkers are nice but a stormraven is better and more survivable.
The drop pod on the TFC is unnecessary unless you are dropping it. You round up for turn one drops and you have an even number.

What will you do about a triptide, broadsides EWO spam list?

All the fire will be on the two stalkers first turn.

I'd switch the melta command squads with flamers/ storm shields and drop the two HQs for Vulkan... and make them all Salamanders...
