Forgive the stupidity (or possibly naivete) of this question. I just bought the 7th edition package, but I was wondering if anything ever came of this pre-release rumor:
"Currently, rumors say that the new core rulebook will be essentially Sixth Edition 40k with a handful of needed erratas and small updates. The changes will, supposedly be available free of charge as printable inserts for those who already own the Sixth Edition rulebook."
I realize that this would probably not happen due to sales reasons, but.........did it or will it happen? I would love to be able to go back to my 6th edition book and put inserts in it so that me and anyone I bring to the table will have a playable ruleset in front of them. Any info is appreciated.

You used the term 'free' in a sentence concerning GW. I can guarantee you they are never going to release anything like you just described.

Well, that certainly is disappointing, however I figured as much. I appreciate the link to the FAQs. Too bad they don't release those little mini-rulebooks outside of boxsets...

They did release a mini-rulebook outside of the boxset for 6e.

I believe they were trying to sell it for around $50US... The boxset (or ebay) was a much better deal.

How did I miss that back then? Well, I suppose it didn't matter anyways, as $50 is a bit steep for that. I ended up getting one via ebay for about $15 usd. Hopefully they will do the same with 7th edition, though I'm sure the price will remain high.
