Releasing a broken product is clearly unacceptable as there are threads upon threads that point to the broken rules that make the game unplayable unless house ruled/jumping to conclusions.

I suggest we unite and determine a method to deliver maximum annoyance to GW until the situation is resolved.

Ideas?

The only thing that comes to mind for me is calling GW customer service many, many times a day asking for rules clarifications on broken rules 1 at a time.

Stop buying their gak?

Releasing a broken product is sort of a popular trend going around lately with gaming. What we could do is not buy, however there's not enough of us to make a difference. Best you could do is ask a bunch of rules questions; but really nothing much you can do but wait.

Send them an email, and/or spend your money on better products.

The US divison will not talk about rules. Remember they are sales people and not rule makers.

Perhaps the best option but it must be sent to the correct person/team. Dont email every day however. Like Shawshank, once a week.

This annoys me greatly. Apart the daemon summoning madness I like the 7th quite a bit, but we need FAQs, many of the older codices are unplayable. It is inexcusable for GW to not release erratas along with the new rules. This really sours my enjoyment of the new edition.

What is the proper e-mail address to bug them about this?

I could obviously be wrong, but I'm betting there will be no FAQs for 7th. There hasn't been any FAQs for over a YEAR with the existing product, and considering the minimal effort it would have taken to keep them up-to-date even while 7th was in production...I think the message from GW is clear-

Our product is perfect in the form we produce it in and you are lucky to be able to partake of it.

I really wish GW would play-test their rules before they release them. For this reason I demand GW stamp '6th Edition ALPHA' and '7th Edition BETA' on their rule books and give us a discount on the price if we are doing their job for them.

This is what I think. Though I haven't read through 7th yet, there might need to be some errata to update old books maybe? Some things that flat out don't work anymore? Beyond that I think there's a good chance we'll see nothing. There's been codices and army books that have been out for a year with rules that needed FAQ or errata and they still haven't come out with the goods.

I'd be willing to bet new FAQs drop this week.

Email their top investors and point them to forums where there's customers who are angry. Wherever that may be.

Is this sarcasm? My Sarcasm Detector blown off the other day....

Anyway, I think it is true. They do not have the amount of play-testers to properly test such a massive release, so they are waiting for the players to try it and give feedback. And then release a FAQ to solve the most glaring problems.

I am not even mad at it, it is a common practice nowadays. And one that works, increasing the quality of a product. If it is followed by another FAQ two months later, after more feedback is provided by the player base, I will actually be impressed by their profesionalism. And if the FAQs keep coming every few months, I will look at the entire company in a completely new way.

On the other side, I will get disappointed (again) if we get the 8th edition before a proper FAQ is released for this one. In most senses, 7th is a FAQ for 6th with a few aditions (FOC brutal changes & the new phase).

Let me tell you, as a guy that works in the field, when it comes to customer relations, it's not the honey that catches the flies, but the sourest of vinegar.

They'll do anything to get rid of you, and a lot of people in this business are not made out for it, so they buckle under pressure and will give you anything to please you.

Not at restaurants though. Never piss off the people that handle your food. Ever.

I'm curious to see how this would go over. If the shareholders saw that their current demands/pressures on GW are doing to the fan/customer base...

so, the rulebook released on Saturday, yesterday was a holiday in the UK. Can we give them a little time to release FAQs before lighting the torches?

Not really no - it should have been ready to go with the rulebook - same as they screwed up the FAQ move on the website change over..............very poor.

iirc 6th was released with the FAQ at the same time to make sure everything worked with the new rulebook.

You mean we shouldn't have expected GW to do FAQ's in the weeks running up to the release of the product?


It doesn't take ten minutes for someone to upload pdf's to a website. They could have done that Saturday morning?


Remember Star Trek Generations? When they released the Enterprise B before installing most of the parts. Did you see how well that mission went?

Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. They knew when the release date was (I would hope so, at least) so they should have had the errata updates for the older codices ready and posted on the release date.

Get TotalBiscuit to do a review on the book. Suddenly over a million fanboys will be hammering their web servers. Server down.

People still belive they will get FAQs for free?
8th edition will fix everything next summer!

All they needed to do was have the few armies not updated for 6th ready for 7th. There's not even that many things to fix as not all 5th ed codices have things that don't work. This strikes me as pure laziness.

Call them anyways. They still have to answer the phone when it rings and just maybe it would get kicked upstairs that **% of calls were for FAQs instead of sales. Definitely fits the annoying part.

A constant barrage of emails and phone calls to their customer service is probably the best way to get GW to act. But we need a lot of people to do this for it to be effective. Starting today I suggest everyone on dakka dakka should email GW customer service at least once per week until we get a visible response. IE FAQs. I am going to send an email right after I finish this post and ask GW about the non existent FAQ.
