Deadly Dire Avenger

London

Hi all,

So I am looking at some help for what I need to purchase for my Eldar army, I currently just have 1 Farseer, 10 Dire Avengers, 2 boxes of Guardians and a Wave Serpant.

I am not after an over-powered list nor a list to combine allies as I play a lot of 2v2 anyway, but one to keep me competetive. What I have mainly fought against so far (As Dark Angels) is Sisters of Battle with Imperial Guard tank allies, Chaos with Hell Turkery and Grey Knights with Imperial Knight allies so I am looking for something that can compete with these kind of enemies at 1000 points and 2000 point games... As so far with my Dark Angels I just get roflestomped, did kill an Imperial Knight with power fisting Terminators though and some Tau.

All teams I have fought so far have brought fliers so will need something to deal with them and obviously the ever present mini-titans, I am essentially creating a shopping list so any help on what else I need to get would be fantastic! Obviously there are a few units I will try an fit in as they just look awesome. Would like to be competetive but occasionaly I will still play a rubbish list that will look awesome while they die horribly.

Sorry if this has been asked many times before, but thanks for the help in advance!

Best Regards,
40k Noob.

Edit:- Side notes we play 7th edition now and I've only played for 3 months so fairly rubish at this kind of thing atm.

Letting my old Blog die till I got more pictures sorted, it will be back up next weekend.

Looks like a solid start - is the Farseer assembled yet btw? (seems a random question, but if not consider converting one on a Jetbike - even if he just hangs with the Guardians the number of times I've lost a 'Seer to Instant Death from a plasma gun...).

Given that flyers and Knights are in attendance, I'll suggest a Crimson Hunter - obviously enough firepower to tango with the Helturkey but also is a significant threat against tanks and Knights. Fire Dragons in a Wave Serpent will also make heavy vehicles quake in their booties.

Warp Spiders also have large mobility and firepower, with strength to threaten medium vehicles (including flyers if Guided), pseudo-rending for Terminators / Obliterators etc. so give them a thought.

For the heavy support, War Walkers are versatile (magnetize the weapons if at all possible), though possibly haven't increased in durability as much as other vehicles in 7th (Open-topped presumably still adds 1 to the damage table? Don't know). I like Dark Reapers, but you may find them not as useful depending on how much power-armour the Chaos and Grey Knights players bring.

The Twilight Zone

Basically what Quanar said.

Wave serpents are solid for everything but your heavy AT needs, in which case you want to stock up on lances, which you can put on the walkers, or wraithlords. A wraithknight is also a strong contender.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

She is assembled, and is in my gallery images. Still a WIP, however I am fine to build another Conversion onto a Jetbike they cheap enough.

Thanks for the Solid advise, will certainly take it on board.

Arguably best units in the entire game:
Warp spiders
Wave serpents
Jetbike guardians
Seer council on jetbikes - 2 farseers + 5-10 warlocks

Any combination of the above is a great start. Fielding jetbike guardians in squads in multiples of 3 (i usually do 3 or 6)

2000+pts
23-0-2
5-1-2
still building slaanesh army!

A wraithknight will take out a knight, and CH will take out air, I recommend at least 2 of each, you will get your moneys worth from it.
