First time I stripped the models, no problem, paint simply peeled off. Repainted them a different color, hated it and decided to strip again. I did two layers of base coat on top of probably too much primer (im a little heavy handed on the primer) then decals followed by wash and varnish. So far the stuff comes off but I have to scrub it off rather than it simply peeling away and I can get all the paint from every crevice of the models. It isn't too big of a deal as primer will cover this up again but I want to get rid of as much paint as I can.
Any suggestions on how to hit those tough spots?
Also, you think I used too much paint and maybe that's why the simple green is having trouble stripping?

What are you using to strip the models? What type of models are they? Resin ? Metal? Plastic?
General advice: I use acetone free nail polish remover, £1:29 from Super-drug (uk). But I'm sure you can get similar products wherever you live. For metal you cam soak it in a 'bath' for as long as you like. For plastics no more than 10m, or you are going to loose fine detail. WARNING: I've never tried on resin so cant comment. I use a nail brush to start, and and old toothbrush for the hard to reach, and spots that are just being difficult. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Its genreally going to be hard to remove a primer layer as it is supposed to etch the surface to stick properly and then to add on top you have a varnish which will also be hard to remove.
I heard simple green changed there formula recently so wont strip as well.
I prefer purple power as its cheap, readily available, and safe on plastics, metals, and resin.
Multiple layers of regular paint should be an issue so long as the chemicals can get underneath.
I suggest, soaking, scrubbing then letting it soak again to get under the varnish layer. it wont be peeltastic but you wont have to scrub as much.
For the hard spots i like making a small sharp pick out of a piece of sprue to clean up small corners and stuff.

Plastic models, using simple green. The additional layers/varnish definitely is making it difficult for the simple green to get to it all.
The primer not coming off im okay with, I just wanna get all the models down to the primer

Yeah primer will generally make it hard to strip regardless of solvent short of acetone levels (which will remove the model as well) Edit: if the model is 100% metal then you could just acetone it to clean EVERYTHING OFFF be sure to be using gloves and stuff though. you dont want most detergents on your hand.

I recently switched to Super Clean for all my paint stripping needs and will never look back. Great stuff and the paint just sloughs off overnight. Just be sure to wear gloves, that stuff will suck the grease out of your hands too!
