Hey everyone! This is my first post here on the forums, i've been trolling around on here for a while and finally decided to get some opinions. Now, I've been playing for 11 years, and thousands sons have always been my favorites. I made em work when no one said they would work, and played the fluffy and did very well in tournaments. Then I moved away for school to a place with next to no community and I essentially missed 6th edition. Now I'm jumping in and going to large a Tournament at the end July and want your opinion on this list. Bear in mind, I've NEVER been a power gamer, don't think like, and hate doing it. It wouldn't be the first time I've ignored what is the "best" or "strongest" list/unit because I didn't feel it fit my playstyle/army. I really just want to be competitive and have a good time, while keeping the fluff integrity of my army. So, with that, here we go!
Sorcerer: Level 3, Spell Familiar, Sigil of Corruption, Veterans, MOT, w/Telepathy or Biomancy - 155pts
Troops
9 Tsons + Champ (lvl 1) - Melta bomb - 270pts
8 Tsons + Champ (lvl 1) - Melta Bomb, Rhino - 282pts
Fast
HellDrake - Hades AC - 170pts
Heavy
Obliterator - MOT - 78 pts
Obliterator - MOT - 78 pts
ForgeFiend - 2x Hades and Ecto - 200pts
Allied Daemons
Herald of Tzeentch - lvl 2, daemonology malefic - 70pts
Herald of Tzeentch - lvl 2, daemonology malefic - 70pts
12x Pink Horrors - 108pts
Total: 1496pts - D6+ 11 Warp Tokens
Ok so, I've yet to play a game of 7th, so i've yet to experience first hand the new objectives. BUT my overall strategy would be as follows: The Tsons and crew move up the field to engage any MEQ/take mid field objectives. The Helldrake deals with aerial threats then proceeds to target light armor and medium infantry. The forgefiend would be my primary AT against 10-13 armor, with the obliterators dropping down onto armor 13-14 targets and/or claiming/contesting (non-troop-held) objectives in the back field. The Heralds; one would start with the horrors and the other would hide. Both would beginning summoning units, one to assist his unit, the other for him to hide in.
Now, I know how broken the new daemon summoning lists that most people are crying about. I have no person intention of going that route, for me its simply a cheap addition of units into an expensive army in way i feel is fluffy still and hopefully keeps up my competitiveness.
What I understand weaknesses are going to be a reliance on reserve rolls and against armies with several high armor targets.
Thoughts? Comments? Concerns? queries? *****es? or complaints?

Heya! Welcome to DakkaDakka. Good to see another TSons player.
You know that your list is unbound right? You have 2 heralds. You can only have 4 heralds for 1 hq slot of CD codex is your main detachment.
I'd drop the ectoplasma cannons. If you're going to take forgefiends, do it for the mass firing of the autocannons.
Take baleflamer! The drake is fast and durable. Abuse that with a template weapon.

The new FAQ allows Heralds to be taken for any detachment (Combined Arms and/or Allied), not just a Primary detachment.

Heldrake weapons are now hull mounted meaning it must shoot from muzzle arc limiting its degrees of firing in the front.
Ignores cover only reduce cover save by 2 allowing units with 4+ cover save to atleast roll a 6+.
Op, you contradict yourself stating you will ignore best advice but want to hear how you can be competitive and win. U remind me of myself when i was playing mtg casually n restricting myself to themes and egotistical conditions but complaining about losing to superior decks. I had to let go of all those self imposed restriction primarily fluff, so i can build the best deck/army and have a better chance at winning.
CHAOS GLORY DEMANDS SACRIFICES!
With that being said, i think you need to summon more horrors by portaglyph n the summoning rules. U may also have to give up 1 tson squad for the filler cultist so you can take something better.

Well my theory behind using the Cannon on the Helldrake and not the baleflamer is that I'm paranoid of enemy flyers and I want to make sure they're dead, and I don't trust a simply str 7 vector strike to do the trick.
For Filch "Op, you contradict yourself stating you will ignore best advice but want to hear how you can be competitive and win. U remind me of myself when i was playing mtg casually n restricting myself to themes and egotistical conditions but complaining about losing to superior decks. It's more like, if someone suggested "Dah, you should go with three helldrakes cause that wins every time!", That I'd ignore. I'm quite happy going to tournament and finishing upper middle field, as long as my army is decently competitive and I don't hate myself for using it lol.
I'll certainly consider dropping the ectoplas, frees up a couple points here and there.
