Any thought process as to why missile lock was removed from the DA Nephlim ?

I admit, never missing missiles was nice, but it seems a bit silly to nerf the only sensible choice for the DA fliers.

I think the Nephilim fighter counts as a ravenwing asset and they didn't want the 2nd company to get TOO STRONG after the jink nerf.

Nonsense. The Battle Company box is perfect for filling out your ranks of aspect warriors with a large contingent from the Screaming Baldies shrine.

The DA Nephlim has no blast weapons. It was a typo. I think when they were making this unit someone was confused as to the purpose of it. It's marketed as an anti-air flier but the unit is built like an anti infantry/light vehicles unit.
Now if you want to see something hysterical try playing a land speeder vengeance now. You can choose to jink it giving you plasma snap shots making this unit that much worse at trying to kill things OR you can shoot at regular ballistics and almost guarantee it's destruction.

IIRC the old FAQ removed it because in 6th edition it only worked with blast weapons, which the DA flyer doesn't have. It was presumably a typo or something left over from an old playtest version, and the FAQ cleaned it up so people wouldn't be confused about how it works. Now in 7th edition missile lock would be a relevant rule, but the old "remove missile lock" change remains and GW is too lazy and/or stupid to fix it.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Wait, maybe I'm confused...

The Jetfighter has blacksword missiles that are blast, no?

Does anything actually have missile lock now?

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."
