1. The treatment of the fans: fans make or break a franchise, they always have and always will. They overprice the models, the authors talk down to us
2. It being marketed towards minors, it’s being increasingly marketed towards minors making it more idiotic.
3. They rehash the same stories.
4. They refuse to advance the plot line.
5. Aliens inevitably winning: the way the plot has been set up either the Tyranids or Necrons will overwhelm humanity, except maybe if Chaos wins and everyone get special powers. That makes me not care if Horus or the Emperor wins because everyone’s just going to be alien food anyway.
6. I think people who root for aliens are creeps. Mutants are ok sense that just means you support continued evolution of the human species and are an enemy of eugenics. If you get something out of humanity being wiped out you’re a masochistic freak and probably a furry with an inflatable pony in your crappy apartment.
7. The dawn of War series keeps getting worse and worse.
8. The fan fiction is better than most books.
9. The Codexs are dumb. Space Marines can ally with Tau but not SOB.
10. I should really have ten reasons but I think I said what I wanted. Oh wait, yea, if your let down by a product and you keep buying into it your like Charley Brown being nice to people who treat him like gak.

If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever

Your attempt at trolling is not only poorly executed and thin-laced, but you're blatantly false in some areas. The Seventh edition is largely fixing allies completely, albeit while causing some problems, there are largely removed with unbound armies. Plus as tournaments are unlikely to even have unbound armies, Eldar with cheesy Tau allies are more or less dead.

I think they should go ahead and kill off the Emprah.

That would explain the SM on SM carnage I witness down at the store.

Fractured chapters either attempting to restore/defend the Imperium with other chapters running off to do their own thing.

Captain Killhammer McFighterson stared down at the surface of Earth from his high vantage point on the bridge of Starship Facemelter. Something ominous was looming on the surface. He could see a great shadow looming just underneath the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, slowly spreading northward. "That can't be good..." he muttered to himself while rubbing the super manly stubble on his chin with one hand. "But... on the other hand..." he looked at his shiny new bionic murder-arm. "This could be the perfect chance for that promotion." A perfect roundhouse kick slammed the ship's throttle into full gear. Soon orange jets of superheated plasma were visible from the space-windshield as Facemelter reentered the atmosphere at breakneck speed.

I was looking forward to reading another Ejector Seat thread, but instead I found a really lame troll thread.

#6 is a real gem. No, really, it is. Not that I think you really feel this way, OP, but there is a part of me that kinda hopes you do. I want there to be a mouth breather that backwards walking around just so I can hate on you in my head. But you don't, so this just turns out to be a really forced "joke".

#10 had potential, but you really should have referenced Lucy and the football. Shame on you, OP. Shame.

Gee wizz I am just so mad at this point in time after reading the first post. Really makes my blood boil. I think its time to post some inarticulate rage for OP's amusement.

Dammit op, you're making those of us leaving for legit reasons look bad. Go troll elsewhere.

Pretre: OOOOHHHHH snap. That's like driving away from hitting a pedestrian.
Pacific:First person to Photoshop a GW store into the streets of Kabul wins the thread.
Selym: "Be true to thyself, play Chaos" - Jesus, Daemon Prince of Cegorach.

I'm gonna generously assume the OP isn't a troll and instead address each of his points.

1. The treatment of the fans: fans make or break a franchise, they always have and always will. They overprice the models, the authors talk down to us

ok the cost is a legitmate complaint. 40k is expensive and we all gotta decide if we get "value for our money" out of it. I've never talked to the authors myself and one of the biggest complaints about GW is their lack of engagement with the community so I'm not sure where ya think they talk down to us.

2. It being marketed towards minors, it’s being increasingly marketed towards minors making it more idiotic.

40k has always been a bit silly and over the top.I'd say uit's being marketed to "teens to 30s" basicly that age range where people have the most disposable income.

3. They rehash the same stories.

I dunno, they're constnatly telling us about new conflicts. that said as the old saying goes there are only what 7 unique stories in existance and every other is a variation of those?

4. They refuse to advance the plot line.

thats because 40k is a setting at it's heart not a storybook. and quite frankly that's not a bad thing. I've had other game settings advance their timelines too fast and as a result the things I enjoyed about the setting where often swept away (look at what WOTC did to Forgotten realms for 4th edition as an extreme example) with 40k, I know for a fact that the next supplement GW releases itsn't going to be some "thousand year later update" that declares the armies I've spent a great deal of time and money painting are now dead and gone.

5. Aliens inevitably winning: the way the plot has been set up either the Tyranids or Necrons will overwhelm humanity, except maybe if Chaos wins and everyone get special powers. That makes me not care if Horus or the Emperor wins because everyone’s just going to be alien food anyway.

How is this "new" for 40k? 40k has ALWAYS been "humanity is on the verge of losing everything. and heroicly fights their fights to at best delay the inevitable" now if you're complaining it makes the HH novels seem less important. remember the HH novels are, comparitivly new for 40k. and they are PREQUELS. yeah we already know how it ends. (and how it ends is "mankind is now gakked") complaining about that is silly.

6. I think people who root for aliens are creeps. Mutants are ok sense that just means you support continued evolution of the human species and are an enemy of eugenics. If you get something out of humanity being wiped out you’re a masochistic freak and probably a furry with an inflatable pony in your crappy apartment.

sounds like maybe you take fiction too seriously.

7. The dawn of War series keeps getting worse and worse.

honestly dawn of war 2 is a perfect game compared to some of the gak that's been released since THQ went under.

8. The fan fiction is better than most books.

then don't read the books?

9. The Codexs are dumb. Space Marines can ally with Tau but not SOB.

that was a core rules issue that has been fixed with the new edition. not a codex problem.

Honestly man it seems to me 90% of your issues amount to "I dislike the fiction"

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

BrainDavio summed it up pretty well.

In reality there are two good reasons to quit:

1) I don't enjoy playing the game.

or

2) I cannot afford to play the game.

Both are reasonable, OP listed neither.
