Subject: Wolf Guard Terminators the way to go?

I like Terminators by their fluff, looks and stats in the game and I'd love to use them.
I tried them with BA and footslogging turned out to be a slow way to die. I used them with DA to deep strike. One squad mishapped and the other were focused to death after firing their SB's.
Grey Knights were the third option for me, but I just don't like them, period.
So I realised that the best way to deliever them quickly would be to use Drop Pods. They get there on the first turn and there's almost no risk for mishap.
So now I have wonder if I should use Wolf Guards in my small Wolves army and tought if they would be worth it in TDA.
I would prefer to drop four of them with Wolf Lord (TDA, of course). How should I equip them?
Any experience on this?
And in a game of 1000 or 1500 how many Drop Pods should I use for them/Grey Hunters/more Grey Hunters to form an effective alpha strike?

I tend to go against the flow of specialized units because if destroyed you might not a backup in the vicinity.
If you put 4 in a drop pod I advise:
1 Dual Claw
2 Storm Bolter/SS
1 Assault Cannon + Chainfist
This gives you 3 models out of 5 (inclusing your lord in there which is likely melee equipped) that can shoot
3 ouf of 5 that can melee
1 Reliable anti-armor
At least 2 3++ to help protect the squad and the lord.
Expensive for a squad but tough as nails.

Don't forget you need to buy a minimum of 5 Wolf Guard to get the special weapon. One of them can be attached to a unit of grey hunters or whatever, you don't even need to buy him terminator armour. This gives you room for the character.
If you are looking for Alpha Strike I would recommend ignoring the terminator armour all together and taking max numbers of combi-weapons on the Wolf Guard.

All TDA is an inefficient point sink. However WG lists can be potent. Think of the TDA as necessary bullet catchers instead of the theme of the army and WG could do big things for you.

This. Yup. Twice as many combi-weapons per pod. It can do some serious damage.
Or mix and match. One or two TDA wolf guard and the rest power armor wolf guard...

Okay, I tought that boys before toys might be the better way with this...
However, I still wish that I could field them as a Terminator unit.
(Are combi-weapons worth it with Terminators?)
But okay, fielding eight WG with combi-guns and a Lord in TDA sound worth it.
Is it reasonable to load any Power/Frost Weapons on them?

Random Dude wrote:In my experience putting all of your grey hunters in drop pods is the way to go. Grey Hunters can easily defeat other troops in combat so deep striking them is highly effective. Since Wolf Guard can't teleport I would go with the more reliable option of putting them in a crusader. The assault vehicle rule allows them to get into combat very quickly.
Crusader is 250 points though. If he wants to do as big of a squad as he can of terminators, than sure. But a couple of 5 man squads would be cheaper in pods.

Yeah, Raider is nice but just so damn expensive...
And Drop Pod let's them arrive on the first turn for turn 2 assault. Land Raider can only barely do that.
