The emperor seemed to use his psychic powers without any worry of attracting the powers in the warp? Was his power taken from something different?

He was also known as the Anathema, suggesting that his powers were completely opposite to the warp based powers

Can anyone shine some light on this or just general interesting theories?

No, the Emperor was just the freaking Emperor. His power was on par with the Chaos gods. Thus he was called the Anathema. He was a psyker, but one so monumentally powerful and immortal that he was a new god. One powerful enough to be a threat to chaos.

He was powerful enough to make them flee Horus when he killed him. If they had stayed they might have been permanently damaged.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Oh regardless of the chaos gods as separate personalities, chaos is an expression of unrestrained id. The Emperor was made from self sacrifice and dedication, which makes him an expression of super ego. He can purge the colors of chaos.

He was just very powerful, and very disciplined. No other individual psyker since the time of the Old Ones has had that sort of raw power. Chaos back then wasn't what it is today though don't forget; the galaxy was fairly orderly prior to the HH, where as in 40k Chaos has been able to enjoy a solid 10,000 years of victory and has grown fat on the hell the galaxy is inflicting upon itself. It might be a different story if the Emperor were to find his want into the world in 40k.

Because he's better than any other human psyker (possibly any mortal psyker) to have ever lived.

When you wield that much power, things like minor fluctuations in the Warp that would cause a lesser being's head to explode simply don't bother you.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

His power was miles beyond any human or mortal ever to have lived. He was half npbeaten to death and still vaportised Horus to the point chaos gods could not resurect him in the warp.

And horous was being fueled by power of chaos gods on top of his own primarch powers.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

I was really hoping da' Emprah was gonna get statted along with Horus in the HH books. That would've been funny.
