So my group showed some interest in Infinity again. We're working on 100 point lists, here's mine:
Sakiel with combi rifle and swarm nades: 26
Gao-Rael Sniper: 37 (1 swc)
Lt Kamael 12
Minelayer Clipsos 25 (.5 SWC)
The first 3 will be linked.
Not really going for power here, just wanted an all-around list with some variety so I can figure out how different things work. All I have is the Tohaa Starter and the Gao-Rael Sniper (really like that model), and I'd prefer not to proxy much.

If you use the minelayer skill in deployment it gives away the general location of the Clipsos since the mine has to be deployed within 8" of it.
Not really a deal breaker for the Clipsos, it just makes the hidden deployment less of a surprise.

Why the other guy only knows you put down a Camo Marker, he dosen't know if it is a unit or a mine. Once it go off them it a different story, but until then it's all fun.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor. |

I strongly, strongly suggest playing with 200 points instead. Allows people enough points to make a flexible force instead of a one trick pony or a list that will be stomped by (insert something you couldn't afford to counter here)
That said, Tohaa have some really good low cost options. Sakiel Spitfire + Kamael Paramedic + Makaul is a 55pt team that is amazingly versatile. At 150pts you can run two of these and have change for other stuff. At 300 you can run four, or run one and then take six high cost models for a solo combat group.

Information denial is a huge advantage, placing a Camo marker (mine or model) as a Tohaa player is an indication of the presence of a Clipsos which negates some of the advantages of Hidden Deployment. It's an exchange of partial information for better board control. A new player is probably not going to know the details of the Tohaa list, but the camo marker influences player decision making. "There's camo in that alley, I should be careful" vs "There's nothing in this alley, it's safe to move my model across it". I'm not bagging on the Clipsos Minelayer, it gives you the option of playing it either way.

Not ideal, but at least gives the opponent a bit of confusion.

No, you get 1 SWC per 50 points. At 100pts, he's got 2 SWC to use (hence why 300pt games have 6 SWC).

Thanks for all the responses.
I'll consider bumping it up to 150.
I don't think we can do 200 yet because some of the starter sets don't make it that high.
Remember, we're working with a small variety here. If it catches on in my group, Makaul will definitely be next purchase. But for now I'm just trying to make a small list with decent variety so we can learn the rules.
