It is definitely the Crimson Slaughter, I believe the cover depicts the Battle for Bane's Landing.

I think the picture on the front of the codex may of been doctored somewhat in photoshop to make it appear more red and eyecatching for a codex cover. The browner look of the Blood Gorgons seems to differ from the codex cover which seems more red, to me anyway. Either way I think it is one of my favourite codex covers.
