where the wind comes sweeping down the plains

The RAW version:

I have a Salamander with a flamer on the ground floor...he can see 1 pink horror on the ground floor but he cannot see the 9 other horrors on the second floor of the ruins. The flamer fires up and the teardrop template covers all 10 horrors. Therefore the flamer scores 10 hits.

8 wounds are rolled. When when wounds are allocated, only the 1 pink horror that can be seen takes all 8 wounds.

Is there any spot in the rules that contradict this?
Helldrake is further nerfed.

That appears accurate. Templates require line of sight for wound allocation.

Interestingly enough blasts can still wound models out of sight so at least they kept that from 6th.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Sigh. Yes, indeed. When in ruins and trenches, this is another one of those areas where reality had to take a backseat to game mechanics. As a Salamanders player, it makes me grit my teeth in frustration every time it happens, but otherwise it might get a little too OP/fiddly to deal with.

It can sometimes have a benefit, if one can obstruct the target in just the right way so more valuable Models are left visible.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

I think you need LOS to target them as we'll, so it's just one hit. Cannot target what you don't see.

Unless they made some major changes that I overlooked, one Targets the Unit as a whole and not individual Models within.
