Playing in a esclation league and hitting the 300 point mark next week. My list is based out of the Shock Army of Acontecimento, so there are a few options for maxing out at 300 (currently not looking at getting any TAGs as my ability to deal with hacking is really lack luster).

I usually run Rao (Bagh-Mari named) as my LT and at least 1 Akalis (Combat Jump, religious guys) as a back field harassment unit (usually paired with a Guardo-de-assaulto). I was curious if people thought Kirpal Sign Akalis Sgt is a worthwhile upgrade from a Akalis?

He is 14 points more then the base Combie version, has +1 Ph, +2 CC, MA lvl2, an assault pistol and chain of command.

Task Force Rath : 5000
Deathwatch: 4000
6000+

In scenarios with objectives, he's worth it. Chain of command makes him a specialist, a mobile specialist is rare for PanOceania. His assault pistol also makes an interesting weapon. Otherwise I'd be more inclined to run ordinary Akal.

Yes. CoC is a specialist for ITS, which is nice. If you ever run Toni as a Lt for the extra order, you'll definitely want him. And he's religious, so, he always drops.

For hacking, take the Naga hacker, and an EVO mulebot. ASA deals with hacking by killing the hackers. Kirpal can do that. And he likes the EVO for trajectory guidance. So can a Naga of any sort.

Ive been looking at ASA a bit lately as well, mainly for the Montessa knight (yeah GDAs probably better, cool story ) and a climbing plus TAG seems pretty sweet. And its still got a DTW so can replace the tomcats Ill so miss....... kinda.
My main question is how well would CoC work on a drop troop? Normally its on random backfield stuff like a kempatei which are generally out of the way and safer. My AD troops have a past of running them till death and while I know thats my choice AD troops are always going to have a bit of excessive risk. So has anyone run him a bit and actually used CoC?

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

Use Montesa at your own risk.

With how I build my army, the lieutenant is rather safe. With Assassination being drooped out of ITS there usually isn't any aggressive play from my opponents. Kirpal is used as specialist or lesser assassin most of the time.

If you wanted to you could take more risky options for your lieutenant, such as Bagh Mari with HMG and Toni.
