I'm interested in a submarine table-top game? Are there any games out there? All I can find are board games.

I used to have a brilliant cheap submarines game in which you attacked or defended a convoy. It was a really cheap production in three colours, black, red and blue and you had to cut out all the pieces from sheets of printed card.

You moved the individual torpedoes across the table giving rise to opportunities for subtle cheating. The defending ships had depth charges and "hedgehog" mortars.

As far as I can remember the company was called Table Top Games. This was the late 70s, many years before the internet and I can't find anything about them now, sadly.

I remember that one Tabletop Games -TTG-M-UP U-Boat - and there was a coastal warfare one as well I think was MTB.

I remember having great fun with these - we substituted Navwar minis for the flimsy card cut outs - but they are so hard to find now. I think Wargames Vault have reprints of the Ancinet sets and the WW! Fleet one.

As for games you could do far worse than try and get hold of the Avalon Hill game Submarine. It generally relatively cheap on Ebay but there are also DVD;s available with the rules and charts if that suits. Probably one of the best sub-sims tha was ever published

The game is quite comprehensive and if you get hold of the articles from the General (some dvds include these) then there are plenty of variants. Althoughit is a boardgame, it is easily transferable to a hex mat - which saves arguments over sub positions etc. Again another game which we used miinis for instead.

Avalon Hill published a game called 'Submarine'. Like most of their stuff it's hex-and-counter so no miniatures required (whether or not this is a good thing is up to you). Rules can be found online if you know where to look, otherwise ebay or similar is probably your best bet.

Avalon Hill also did a card game of submarine warfare. I had a copy but I sold it in the mid 2000s along with most of my boxed board wargames now much regretted.

I think I remember that card game. I only played it once, but it seemed like a fun game.

It was Attack Sub and played out very well.

It was a relaxing break from the heavy going that was the hard core naval buffs who wanted to play Harpoon 4.

That is the one.

I had a pretty large collection of Avalon Hill and SPI and GDW games, most of which I sold off in the early 2000s. I made a fair bit of money from them but now I wish I had kept more than I actually did.
