I have the mantic city quadrant and have pics of what people have done. It doesn't go together easy without glue. I don't want to pants up this like I have with previous mantic scenary (which I repaired and love...thanks gamer buddy for breaking it before I built it).
Basically would like a link to a step by step to build a ruined city for 40k that would a) play cool and b) be movable insofar as some of it is glued. A non youtube video would be ace.
Please help!!! And I hope this is the right forum!

Why would you want to glue it? It is modular and designed so that you can take it apart and redesign your terrain as often as you want, thus the point of all those connector sprue's that come with the set. To answer your question I don't think there are any guides for building it in a certain way, I made my own thread about it a little while ago and no one knew of any guides for it. Best of luck painting it though, also this does belong in the painting and modeling section.

Everything I say, barring quotes and researched information, is my personal opinion. Not fact.

I think he covered why he wanted to glue it.
I haven't seen any tutorials that are good, but I would use bluetac to get the setup you want and then assemble it.
A series of buildings that you can put together to make different setups is probably the best bet.

This post was worth it for the blu-tac comment. Pure unadulterated genius. Thanks!!! So simple!!!
Yeah I know it's modular but personally I've found it a nightmare. Sadly. So part glue part prayer.
Thanks.

Also, if you are having problems with the assembly, I recommend a sharp exacto knife.
For the X shaped walls, I had to shave the holes out a bit to make them wider. Similar modifications on other things made the whole shebang A LOT easier.

Yeah I'm the same I have a good set of tools. Going to spray paint then hand brush. Got some signs and some inspiration. Seen a space hulk style layout..going to keep looking around. Probs going to do four or five buildings and then do the same with the ruined building quadrant and the fortifications.
Got a big 1A12 orpheus campaign coming up so wanted it done for then. If you know of any good blogs of finished layouts that would be sweet! Thanks beys!

Pro tips:
- Clip out the small piece of plastic in between the two square holes (to turn it into a single rectangular hole).. the connectors will go in so much easier.. you'll still want to glue them, but it'll be less of a pain to get the connectors in prior to adding a drop of glue to permanently secure it once its in.
- When you spray them pre-assembly (easier) , blu-tack over the connector holes so you don't get paint in them.
- Don't spray your connectors.
- Citadel mould line scraper is *perfect* at getting the mould lines off of everything. Extremely quick, it's all flat surfaces and hard plastic so the scraper just tears through them really fast.
Hope that helps, I buggered up my first lot of terrain too, connectors wouldn't fit so I tried clipping off the pegs... very bad idea.
