40k was never designed for tournament play, will never be balanced for tournament play. You will not be able to do so unless you want to make a bunch of "house rules" to play by. You can cry and complain about how unfair it is and how the new edition ruined the game.

You know what its the same crying every edition.

Again 40k was never designed for tournament play, will never be balanced for tournament play.

This is what is known as a trolling thread, because you aren't looking for a conversation, you've already made up your mind and are just stating an opinion. But worse, you've stated in it in a way that ignores simple facts and is phrased so as to generate negative responses.

Games Workshop ran their own 40k tournaments for over a decade and the current 7th edition rulebook even mentions playing 40k in tournaments.

So you are free to have that opinion, but it doesn't match up with the facts of reality.

Locking now...

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!
