I'm currently running a $1 sale on all of my printable paper model kits at RPGNow, DriveThruRPG and Wargame Vault. All of my stuff is just $1 each. This sale will run through Tuesday, June 3rd, so this is a great time to stock up!
http://www.wargamevault.com/browse.php?manufacturers_id=2985
All of my kits are designed at 28mm scale, and can be easily reduced to smaller gaming scales by adjusting the print percentage size. The percentages you should use for various gaming scales are included in the instructions PDF that comes with each kit.
My models are designed to be easy to print and assemble using ordinary hobby tools. All you'll need is some cardstock paper to print on, hobby knife, paper glue and a cutting mat. Every component is a simple shape that's put together with other simple shapes to create more complex-looking final designs. Gaming terrain really doesn't get any easier or more affordable than this.
Lots of my model kits include multiple graphics layers in the PDFs. These let you customize the graphics in lots of fun ways before you print. This means you can print any multi-layered model several times, choosing a unique look for each one. It also means that those models can be adapted for different historical and fantasy genres.
Check out my free models for a risk-free start on my collection. The Hovel is a simple way to get started with papercrafting. The Coach House is a little more involved, and demonstrates how multi-layered PDFs work. The Observatory is a lot more challenging, but it's a funky model that pairs well with my popular Inventor's House model (now available for just one buck!). The Free Cargo Pod is my only free sci-fi model, but it's a pretty useful one!

I tried out the cargo pod. It was good! I'll probably grab the scifi and medieval bundle. Just hope I have time to build it.

I have used a lot of these models - if you can get them for $1 then get them!
But then I am addicted to PDF terrain.... (World Works, Dave Graffam, and Lord Zse Zse in particular.)

Dave's stuff is awesome.
Beautiful art, smart construction, and good instructions on how to assemble.
At a $1 a model, they are a no brainer for any model you think you have a use for.

It is only the individual models that have the discount - I just got a few that I was missing. (Armorer's, and Steampunk Building #1.)
Prices came out at $1, as advertised.

Ahhh yes, that'd make sense. I just added a couple of bundles to the cart and the total was coming out.. significantly above 1$ a piece; that seems to have been the issue.
In that case, I'd suggest that you go on and edit the bundle prices. They're showing up as 1$ on the site itself, but when you go to checkout they've no discount at all. Not a huge issue, but certainly caused me some confusion in the few minutes I had before leaving for work!

Oh, the bundles. Always a joy during sale time.
So I'd actually goofed and forgot to reset the sale prices for the "Town Landmarks" bundle -- this has been corrected.
You won't notice any "discount" on bundles unless they include PSD files -- but the PSD files always come free in the bundles. Basically it means that during this sale you're paying $1.00 per model whether it's loose or in a bundle, and if you buy a bundle you'll get any associated PSD files for free -- which will LOOK like a discount but it's really just business as usual. Yeah, that's not confusing at all.
I also goofed and unpriced the "Maritime Buildings" bundle and the "Low Street Buildings" Bundle. These are now set at the $1.00-per-model price ($4.00 and $2.00, respectively).
Anyway, all the bundles should now be at the proper sale prices.
The "Budget Bundle" is an exception -- it's 25% off the usual $30 price, but it was already a super-discounted so the one-look-only models that it contains are less than $1.00 per model all the time.

Heh - the very first cardstock model that I ever built was in Disney Magazine, back in the 1960s. A hobby that has stayed with me for decades....
I think that the model is available, somewhere out in the wilds of the interweb.

Which site? DriveThruRPG, RPGNow and Wargame Vault are all run by the same company -- they just have different storefronts. As far as I know, there's nothing about any of those sites that should raise concerns.

I was looking for a free template to build some soviet-style concrete storage sheds. Ended up finding that Dave's stuff on WGV was on sale for a buck per plan. Bought some. Then went back for more three times. Now I've spent more than $50 on them. in less than a day.
Moral of the story?
Sales work, and work well.
...also, Dave's stuff is pretty awesome.

I love the look of these but i dislike the idea of just having card stock buildings. I have used them in the past and while it looks good from the outside but as usable terrain in wargaming imo card stock doesnt do well.
Does anyone have any experiance using these designs to build sturdier buildings maybe from mdf or masonite to give it more volume and ability.

For me there are two advantages for cardstock buildings:
1. They are quick to build - I can set up a scene for a city battle both quickly and easily.
2. They are easily replaced - if somebody steals, damages, or sits on one (yes, it has happened to me) then I am out some ink, some index, and a little bit of glue.
If I am running a game at a store, in a class, or at the house of a friend that has children... yeah, cardstock all the way.
I have PDF terrain from a large number of companies - some are good, some are very good, and others... not so much.
Graffam is one of the very good ones - I have some that came from his old Warhammer site.
Another advantage that ties in with the easily replaced bit - it means that they can be disposed of if that is more convenient than carting them back. (At conventions and classes I would give the terrain away after the event was over.)
So I only have to cart it one way.
I could also print up a pile of sheets for Mordheim terrain, and let the students build their own terrain. (The rule was that if they built it, they could keep it - but everybody in the class could use it.)
I am currently getting terrain for a Fallout game - Finger & Toe is getting a lot of screen time, as are the World Works sets that can be used for Vaults.
For Warhammer it is Graffam and Lord Zse Zse that gets used most often.
So, I like PDFs.

It's pretty easy to mount most of the walls and ceilings to foam core. Makes them much more durable.
