Okay, I've devised a number of Astra Militarum lists to use. Their main nemesis will be Tau, but I prefer to be as TAC as possible. I will have a full Wall of Martyrs Defence Line and a Bastion to keep my Guardsmen in cover, so extra Fortifications are not a huge priority. Again, any changes to any of the lists or whole new ones will be gladly welcomed!!

For list 1,
- Not a fan of giving PIS/PCS special weps that cost about 3 times the dude using it. Vets are OK but packing lots of special weapons into squads to the point each man has a plasma weapon or better is risky since guardsmen aren't exactly hardy. I'd go for more men, with less special weapon/heavy weapon density per squad so the enemy has to kill the worthless lasguns first. In example, a single template on your PCS could wipe out 80 pts of good weapons before they even get to fire.
For list 2
- Never used a superheavy in a game before so I have no comment.
For list 3
- Manticores count as a heavy slot each so you cannot have 3 bassies and manticores.
For list 4
- Probably my favourite list. I am a tank guy but this seems like the best of the lot. Good weapon densities in each squad. Scions are OK for having a high special wep density since they could potentially last a big longer than a PCS. Vendettas and valks are always welcome. Again, keep squads to a defined role. You cannot split fire unless you are having your CCS follow your vet squad with the demolitions around so I'd suggest giving them a defined role rather than giving them various weapons as a TAC squad ( which doesn't work well ). You cannot have more than 1 doctrine for your vet squad.
For list 5
- Light for a mech list. 3 tanks and and 6 transports are good but transports probably won't live very long. Then again, with the new rules in 7th ed, transports will definitely shrug some hits off. Not really a fan of the taurox but thats just me. Probably my 2nd fav list.
For list 6
- No comment on allies. IG/AM don't need no battle brothers! We will conquer the galaxy on our own!!

I was aware though that Veterans could take multiple Doctrines? It says any, instead of one.
For the Mech list, I was going to have the transports move behind a steel wall of Leman Russ hulls to give some cover. That would keep my men safer!
I will be devising a tank-heavy list soon to add to this, but leaning towards 4 and 5.
You could look at some of the threads I had posted. Most of them are tank centric. I am not entirely sure how 3 tanks would fair as a steel wall but I am guessing it won't be enough. Especially at 2000 points. People will definitely bring heavy AT at those point levels so 3 russes won't last very long.
List 7
- that would be something I would play. True to an armoured company.
- that said as well, I'm not a fan of sponsons so if you are game, throw the sponsons and get more tanks :p.
- special wep density is too high in PCS so move the meltas around.

I kinda want to keep the armoured list at 9 LR max, it's just fluffy for me! However, with regards to the melta PCS, I would be putting them in a Valkyrie/Vendetta and using them as a melta-cide squad.
