I'm looking to add AA and I always assumed I would get 2 Stormtalons, but for the same point cost, I could just get StormRaven instead? I know they are different vehicles with the Raven having a tranport capacity and the Talons w/o, but for strictly AA purposes, which one is better and why?

Personally I run a Talon, I have played with a borrowed Raven before but it has never made made such an impression that I felt the need to buy one!

The Raven, especially loaded with marines suddenly has a different role to play than the straight up combat role of the Talon, I prefer just fighting.

For purely AA purposes, a Talon may be more cost effective (but I wouldn't rely on only one source of AA, though).

Of course, you could just get this bad boy.

What would be the best all around loadout for StormRavens (I plan to magnetize anyway).

You at least want the multimelta and the twinlinked autocannon. Some people preferred the lascannon but with the new damage chart I think getting more hull points shaved off is key. Missiles are also useful for flier killing. Unlike GK stormravens, you could probably afford to skip out on the hurricane bolters unless you really want more bolter shots on something and have the points to burn.

I personally keep it basic with multi-melta and assault cannon. That plus two missiles is the way to go.

Agreed, unless your GK the bolters are pointless (but still cost points).

Unless you can consistently get rear armour.
