Hi all,
I've been building up my 40k armies lately (chaos and nids) and I am looking to create some associated terrain for the latter! I've browsed on the internet for quite a while but can't really find any how to's etc. just stuff for sale. Essentially I'm probably going to create a 4ft x 4ft board and build lots of modular terrain, some generic like hills and rivers and others specific to the races I mentioned above, anybody got some stuff I can use for inspiration, guidance etc.? I'm pretty at building terrain but I really struggle with actually narrowing down to a feasible idea.

I'm building this up with the thought of like a hunkered down fort being assaulted by the nids, so it's just nid terrain I want, because I've already done some chaos stuff.

Anyway, hit me with what ya got

Where'd you get the expanding foam? :p and where'd you get the sticks? Any major retailers stock them?

You can pick up expanding foam from any diy centre or hardware store, prices vary wildly £3.50-£15 depending on where you go. I get the cheapest stuff I can from Screwfix.

I managed to get the sticks from TK Maxx for a few quid a pack years ago. I bought every pack they had. Unfortunately I've not seen any anywhere since.
You can get them from Ebay but the postage from the states is a joke. Maybe it wouldn't be too bad if you bought half a dozen packs and combined?

It'd be possible to use normal sticks from the garden though and do a little greenstuff.

Hope that helps.
