Ok, I hear a lot of people complaining about how cheesy it is to have C:SM summon demons but it seems close to impossible to do so to me.

Let's say I use 4 dice to see if I get the spell off.

I would need one roll of 4, one of 5, and one of 6?

Because any double which is very common, will make you peril?

If by some miracle I roll the 4, 5, and 6 and summon some pink horrors, can they summon without the doubles penalty because they're demons?

As mentioned above, you can still cast the power even if you perils.

As for the second part, correct. Horrors, because they are Deamons, will only perils on double 6's.

You need to throw 8 dice to have better than an 85% chance for the power to go off. Automatic perils happens at 7 dice (because you WILL get doubles if you roll 7 dice).

Basically, if a non daemon wants to summon some daemons and have a decent chance, they are almost guaranteed to get a Perils of the Warp.

Normally that is true.

For non demons using demonology to conjure demons there are extra rules for perils and it is not just double 6's.

But I just read you can't summon daemons with just 10 pink horrors. I think your horrors are limited to 10 per summon.

From what I'm reading, it's not possible to start a demon factory.

If I summon, I can only make 10 pink horrors and they are level 1, if I make a herald, I can only make them level 2. If I possess Tigirius, I can only make a lvl 1 psyker. You need to be a level 3 psyker to be able to summon demons and Tigirius won't survive long dropping perils every turn.

This is one of the major changes from 6 to 7. ML does not limit your WC casting level.

Yes.

You can in fact hit factory level status churning out demons once you get the ones you need to start, this is assuming they don't die before next cast etc etc.

The new rules say any Conjured psyker rolls for powers as soon they are summoned. (pg 26, 2nd column, bottom paragraph)

One thing left off on the odds listed above, Tiggy can re-roll failed psychic tests. Also perils is largely not that bad with ld 10.

Only half the perils have a leadership test and one of those (result 1) still inflicts a wound even if you pass (but at least you don't insta-die).

Ld10 is nice to have, but with daemonology even Tiggy is going to die quick enough if he uses a lot of spells. Unless you sacrifice your squad mates with cheap 1-dice casts.

I think the real beef here is that it seems contradictory from the lore.

ehhh Idk I would tend to disagree.

Tiggy is the only mastery level 3 ULTRAMARINES have access to.

And honestly, I don't think its farfetched for them to have a psyker with such knowledge of the warp for defense purposes that he can tap into the warp to draw a hole large enough for them to poor out of.


At least thats how I personally see it happening.

This all being said, I also don't see why he couldn't have explained that EXACT gak to a Level one librarian under his study before a battle either.

Lore-wise I don't see five level ones just FIGURING OUT warp hole over and over with precision, but this is why we have fails and perils..

As for the rules and perils (on that note).. Tiggy is very susceptible to perils even at Ld10 and can NOT reroll perils if it is a PASSED test.

There is a seperate thread floating around about how "rerolls" work right now.
