Subject: Suggestions for stripping paint from Monolith

My colour scheme for necrons is black red and (of course) silver. So I was wondering if anyone has suggestion for stripping paint off a monolith so that I can repaint it in my scheme? I've used acetone for metal models and I've read about dettol for plastics. Still, the Monolith is whopping huge.
Any ideas?

Simple green. It comes in bleach sized bottles and is not that expensive. Just buy 2 bottles then submerge it fully for like 12 hours and your done.

The black rage is within us all. Lies offer no shield against the inevitable. You speak of donning the black of duty for the red of brotherhood; but it is the black of rage you shall wear when the darkness comes for you. |

Unfortunately I have not come across simple green where I am.
I guess I can soak one side at a time but it is still kinda cumbersome.

I have been using 91% rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush to strip my guard. Soak for 2 minutes then go at it with a tooth brush. May be able to adapt this for a monolith.

I like isopropyl alcohol for stripping things nowadays.

5 L of the stuff fill a big old tub with it and your model... wait a bit and scrub simples.
Fairy power spray might be a good one as you dont need to submerge it for it to work; spray on wait 15mins and scrub.
Fairy power spray is aka dawn power dissolver... its an oven cleaner / degreasing spray from the supermarket.
Between the IPA and the power spray.. I find that most paint types come up really nicely.. where one struggles on something the other usually does the job. The compliment each other well and often I can get things down to absolutley bare plastic... that black primer staining does actually come off most of the time.

Fairy powerspray, works like magic.
Will take the paint off your garage door if used neat, but does not harm plastic, resin, or vinyl. Does not smell bad. Wear gloves to protect from contact dermatitus, and use an old toothbrush or similar to brush off the old paint.

Don't use the new formula Powerspray, it's almost useless. The old formula is in bottles with a red circular flash on the label, the new stuff is in bottles with a mainly green label and a small straight yellow flash and the words Fresh Citrus.
It doesn't stay as a foam for as long, turns to liquid and will leave flakes of paint.
Don't understand why companies must fiddle with stuff like this that works well.
