So me and my friend were playing the other night and using the cards. We decided to draw 3 objective cards per turn to make the game more interesting.

By about turn 4, my opponent, mostly by bad luck and bad deployment decisions ended up with 12 cards and no way to achieve any of them.

My question, is this normal? Can you have a large number of cards you simply cannot achieve and you just stack them up and hold them until you can?

I don't recall seeing a card limit in the BRB tbh.

Also, when discarding the cards after achieving an objective, are we only allowed to discard one additional objective for no points or can we ditch and and all objectives we do not want to use?

The limits for how many cards you may have are written in each maelstrom scenario. If you are playing a custom mission you will have to determine your own limits (if any). Pages 148-152 under "Victory Conditions" or "Tactical Objectives"

You may only discard *one* objective per turn without completing it. You receive no points for doing so, but you will draw an additional new card at the beginning of your next turn. Page 137 under "Discarding Tactical Objectives"

If you feel that these are not balanced enough (like mostly everyone else), then I encourage you to house rule the card system to your linking. There are many suggestions on how to make them more balanced, such as allowing as many mulligans per turn as you desire, or a mission specifying which group(s) of cards you draw from each turn. Just browse the "proposed rules" section of the forum for additional ideas.

We generally do our own missions cause we have a custom Circle table and not the required 4 x 6 so we kinda play it by ear, didn't bother reading the premade missions in the BRB as I never intended to use them lol

That sounds pretty neat. I've never played on a circular table before. Would you mind PMing me your custom mission rules for it? I might want to try it out sometime with my group.

So far its mostly been capture and secure, bonus points if you capture an objective that is secured by an opponent, but we are still working on more stuff, we haven't been playing very long

Keep in mind that both players should have their own deck of cards ( or use the table).

Yes, each player should have their own deck.

We decided that before objectives are placed but after seeing each other's list, each player is allowed to pull out any objective cards that are impossible to perform. For example, opponent doesn't have flyers, get rid of the shoot the flyer card.

Follow up question to the tactical objectives.

When you roll on the chart, there are similar objectives with different descriptions. For example rolling 11, 21, or 31 tells you to do the same thing but has a different description (i.e. capture and control, etc.)

Do these descriptions have any bearing or impact on what you are supposed to do?

No difference in what you are supposed to, they were just weighting the deck so that half of the cards are about scoring objectives on the table. That way have of the time you are going for a specific Obj on the table instead of always having to do something wonky from what's on the other cards.

Yeah, I put together laminated charts so people can mark with a dry-erase the status of different objectives. Fits on a half-sheet of paper, along with a mini scoreboard for tha player. It's also important for both players to mark what's been rolled (or drawn) for them because you can't get the exact same obj. twice (specifically, same number).

I noticed that the plastic glue label recommends wearing something akin to a hazmat suit when handling the glue. I have been using it for years and never used gloves or anything nor do I know anyone who does. ShouldI be worried for my health?

Well, there's a slight risk of gluing something together with it. Only slight, mind.

Just gonna cave and spend the small amount for a 2nd deck and let my opponent use if they don't have their own
