There used to be an FAQ confirming that if a character joins a unit of Deathmarks, that character inherits the Hunters from Hyperspace rule. That FAQ is no longer with us in 7th.

So, does the following rule from the Codex explain itself:

"Hunters from Hyperspace: When a Deathmark unit deploys, choose a non-vehicle enemy unit...to be their prey..."

The fact that this rule is applied at the unit-level makes me think that any non-DM member of that unit (Crypteks, Destroyer Lords, etc.) would also gain Hunters from Hyperspace, so long as he was part of the unit when it deployed.

Agree? Disagree?

If that's the case, I wonder what other FAQ's are hidden in digital versions of a codex...

Anyone have the digital CSM and can check the heldrake? ;D

Can we get the wording pretty please?

You sought to cower behind your walls, weakling? Instead, by the will of Khorne, you shall die behind them

Without the wording we only have your word. I'd like to see what the quote is, no offense.

RC members join units. Hunters From Hyperspace states that it affects the unit not Deathmark Models. The 6th edition FAQ clarified RAW.

(hardback) Rules presented in full to show that a Cryptek does indeed become part of a Deathmark unit:

Hunters from Hyperspace: When a Deathmark unit deploys, choose a non-vehicle enemy unit on the battlefield (even a unit in a transport) to be their prey - place a counter next to the chosen unit to serve as a reminder. Any Deathmark unit that shoots at, or strikes blows against, a unit marked in this fashion will score a Wound on a roll of 2+

Royal ourt...before the battle, each member of the Royal Court has the option of being split off from his unit and assigned to lead a different unit from the following list: Necron Warriors, Necron Immortal, Lychguard or Deathmarks.

So, a Cryptek becomes part of (the leader of) a Deathmark unit. So since he's a part of the "Deathmark unit", he gets Hunters from Hyperspace, with no need for an FAQ.

At least the way I read things.

That's how I took it. The FAQ was just to clarify...and I play against those damn things regularly!
