Hey all, my brother and his friend bought the FoW starter set, and I want to build a british army that can have as many Bren/Universal carriers as possible. I understand that Flames of War rewards well rounded armies unlike 40k, but my man-love for the Bren Carrier is great from Company of heroes. Army list suggestions would be appreciated, preferably focusing on the Mid/late war so that I am able to play them. Thanks in advance

That's a tough ask IMHO! They're usually only about 100 odd points for a confident vet patrol of 3. And whilst a lot of lists give you an option for 4 patrols in one box, some may have 2 but I don't know off the top of my head.
The other option is a Brit recce list, in each combat platoon you get 5 armoured cars and up to 6 carriers, giving a max of 6 patrols, but then you have to spend lots of money on armoured cars too...
I wish you luck but I think the largest number of points I've seen you can spend on carriers so far is about 400 points

On the contrary it's not too difficult at all.
The standard Overlord infantry lists allows you 12 carriers in a 4 section carrier platoon, another 6 in a Recce platoon (along with the mandatory purchase of armoured cars). and on top of this you can motorise your mortar and machine gun platoons for another dozen or so.
Probably overkill and not particularly competitive but if you've got the itch...

The Universal Carrier was the most produced vehicle of the war, exceeding even the production numbers of the most popular Soviet vehicles. What this means is that its ok to spam them.

You can get basically the same thing using Market Garden, but as Confident Veteran instead of Confident Trained. It will cost you more points per unit though.

Hmmmm.... not quite.
The US built 197, 000 Studebaker trucks alone.
They made over 500, 000 GMC trucks.
Bit more than 57, 000 universal carriers...

When it comes to universal carriers, I think Wikipedia says it better than Orlanth did: .. it is the most produced armoured fighting vehicle in history.
I'm sure that's what he meant to say
