Between the unbound rules, allies, and some Daemon-Spawn cheese, has anyone considered using Zoanthropes to get cheap mastery levels? In an 1850 game you can spend around 850 points on Chaos Daemon psykers to actually manifest the powers, and then buy 20 single Zoanthropes for 40 extra Warp Charges. As long as you take single Zoanthropes, you're spending 25 points per Warp Charge, on a relatively durable platform. (I am moderately sure that this is the cheapest source of Warp Charges in the game.) 40 extra charges means that you can garuntee 6-7 passes on Warp Charge 3 powers. While you have less Psykers to cast with, early game, this battery of Mastery seems like it overcharges any psychic army enough to more than make up for is points. Has anyone else thought of this?

Yes its a good source of warp charges but no one is going to run unbound so is still limited to either 1 unit if allied or 3 if primary

For some reason I find the idea of likea group of 20 Zoanthropes standing around helping Daemons funny.
Also, you can do that in the normal rules.
Ally Demons to Greyknights with Come the Apocalpyse.
Take Coteaz.
Buy warp charge for 30 points a charge. Completely legal not unbound.

Technically, Unbound IS 'Normal rules.' If I were to do this I'd setut up as a big campaign game with a great big pentagram onthe board where Chaos deploys, and with the Zoanthropes all in a big circle around it. (With a more chaosey model.) The fluff would be the good guys (Maybe Grey Knights?) are trying to break up a chaos Warband of sorcerers from opening a mass portal into the Warp. The Zoanthropes would be highly volatile psychic foci, who zap anything that come close and generate energy for the portal.

I've since been informed that you can get cheaper ML3 Daemon sorcerers using Crimson Slaughter. Which would let me get another ML3 Tzerald with Portaglyph.
(I think any attempt at doing this would get you rightfully thrown out on the street, but it is legal army construction )

Cheapest WC is indeed the henchmen psyker with 18 points per WC.

I feel the Coteaz + Psyback henchman psykers + handlers is the best bit; as the TL BS4 Str6 psyback is a decent bit of dakka, combined with the insanely cheap pskers, gives you a reasonable 34pts per WC + a decent fire platform.
Honestly; I would suggest you take these as batteries and aim to have a small number of initial daemons, those being the summoners. Of course that limits the initial redundancy you have and you need to make sure they are survivable.
Can the pyskers summon (Perils will be death but you just want to case at least once), assuming your primary daemons got Alpha'd.

The only "issue" I can see, is Shadow in the Warp...it does not affect Nid Codex/Faction (but it does everbody else), so it would be a "perils" hose in a big way....sounds just like Tzenches master plan part 7,876,995...

That's not a legal army sort of. The others would be Allied Detachments not Combined Arms detachments. Also that army is hilarious.

There is no restriction on the number of combined arms detachments or the faction of combined arms detachments. The only requirement of a CAD is that all models in it are from the same faction.
Although technically it does have enough troops to make Inquisition the Primary CAD and then have 5 allied detachments of CSM / Daemons, if you really want to.
