Just occurred to me while looking in the rulebook, that when it comes to witchfire psychic powers, only beams are specifically written to not be able to target a unit in combat. Rules state that the psyker can't be locked in combat to shoot a witchfire, but I can't find anywhere that states a non-beam witchfire can't target a unit in combat.

Any thought's on this, am I missing something?

"A psyker must be able to see the target unit (or target point) and cannot be locked in combat if he wishes to manifest a psychic power"

The part where they are assault weapons still there? As such shooting restrictions still kick in.

That way,then left

It references the Shooting rules, and gives exceptions to those.
That part isn't in the exceptions, so I will play it as it's still in place
