Does it really matter? Think the power weapons the GK I inherited are Halberds, but I wanna make em lances, this should be fine right?

If you check the GK FAQ, they are Unusual Force Weapons, except the hammer, whose profile is listed.

Technically, Halberds are Axes, so you would either use them as Power Axes, or make them more "spear-like" so they could be Power Lances.

the halbred model is long and pointy like a spear,

its also somewhat choppy like an axe,

either way as long as you pay the appropriate points, and disclose what they are to your opponent, keeping them all counting as the same type of power weapon, you should be good.

Use the rules in the rulebook.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.
