The tech as he comes is a joke, do him a solid and give him the full servo harness and he gains infinite more usefulness. With a servo harness he now has a flamer and a plasma pistol and he has an extra 2 attacks in cc and also repairs vehicles on a 5up
Scouts are a great unit regardless of loadouts. Sniper scouts are best left at the back to take potshots, shotgun scouts can kamikaze from a drop pod, ccw scouts can deploy from a land raider to stall any would be attackers and bolter scouts can follow up the real marines to add to their damage potential and to wreak havok on anything left in their wake.

Uh, how are you slapping those shotgun scouts in a drop pod? Buying it for another unit then putting them in it? Not sure you can do that RaW... Land Speeder Storm, yes, this works.
Something not to forget is that the techmarine boosts the cover save granted by a ruin in your deployment zone by 1. Put those cloaked sniper scouts there, and they become much more durable.

Scouts can't go in a drop pod. I do like scouts, right now they're one of the few ways to get precision shots.

Yeah I'm gonna get the harness.
Does the model come with all the servitors or will I need to hunt down more?

i love my Techmarine. Been taking him over my librarian in every army list for the last couple months. Now with the changes to psychic phase and the go big or go home mentality, there is no reason to take my libbi anymore. Techmarine with harness, PFG, and bike; OR no bike and place in a LR.

Scout snipers can be cheap distraction.
Your oponant needs to deal with them or be plinked constantly all game wasting firepower or units on them

I wouldn't bother with a harness if he is going to be sat in backfield giving them a +1 to cover.
The flamer won't be used except in exceptional circumstance, he shouldn't be moving around to fix vehicles and the plasma risks killing him.
Plus the Techmarine with servo harness mini as sold hits 95pts
The regular one is 65 with the Power Axe although I would personally chop that off and put a pointing hand or something from my bits box in there and run him as Bolter and Bolt pistol with a servo arm for a tiny 50pts, there is an older metal figure I see on ebay a lot that has a controller thing for his servo arm and a bolter that goes cheap if you don't fancy converting a new one.
His entire job when in a sniper squad at the back is to add that extra point to the cover, I have used them like that in a ruin with camo cloaks to get a 2+ save.
5 scouts with snipers, camo cloaks and a tech marine with bolter and bolt pistol is 110 pts.
Put them in a ruin and laugh all the way to the bank with the chance of Precision shots and a 2+ save.

Oh I don't wanna put them in the same unit. I wanna throw the tech into my ADL with some tacticals and just chill for a bit.
For the snipers, I just love snipers in all games I can have access to them and would run them for annoyance factor against an opponent

dark angels get techmarines at a discount. One with a harness is only 75pts. He doesnt come with an axe as stock.
I'd personally field him with short range sternguard with flamers n such. He will lend his harness weapons well to their cause. Give him a storm bolter and he becomes beastly.
I think that as a da player my best use is tying him to veterans in a land raider. They would pop out and just obliterate something with their vast amounts of plasma, flame, and bolter between them. They would just pop out and stuff would vanish.
Against tyranids ten guys with flamers/combi flamers. I could cut a hole through a massive mob of guants big enough to drive a baneblade through in a single turn.

Sounds like a lot of fun, trying to stick to a pure DA list though until I get a better grasp on everything they have to offer

Scouts can be useful, but in some games it can be tricky to make their points back. In previous editions they could do a hail-mary to take out vehicles, but that's virtually vanished nowadays.

for the price of scouts you can add a whirlwind. I think that is where I am going next. Objective secured is nice with the scouts but they are not adding much to damage output and when you use DWT every point must be hurting something.
