With 5500 points we have a fething Imperator titan with 6 Plasma Destructors, and 2 Plasma annihilators, and 40 Gal Vorbak in it's feet to discourage the whole Melta jetbike Eldar tactic.
How do you win assuming you have 8000 points to work with?

Finally found my quote from a gym buddy born and raised in South Korea:
"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.
"It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
"It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
"It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

Flyers. 8000 points of Flyers. Vendettas, Stormravens, scythes, drakes, whatever it takes. Just 8000 points of things that laugh at blast templates.

Assault. Titans can be locked in combat now. If you have Orks, then you can either bring Zagstruk or just use the Stormboys formation at the back of the Apocalypse book to lock it in combat on turn one. Then, just bring in something with lots of S10 attacks to wail on it in close combat. (Ghazkull Thraka, for example.)

Or, if you play Space Wolves, then for 350 points a pop you can get 9 Melta Guns in a Drop Pod with preferred enemy against one enemy unit type. (For example, walkers, which includes the Super-Heavy.)
I don't know how many Hull Points it has, or how many void shields, but I somehow doubt that it can stand up to 15-20 of these melta-assaults. You're going to get 60-70 Penetrating hits in total, assuming rear armor 13.

I never implied you couldn't do that, but..........you cant do that.
The imperator controlling player having fewer points should of said that.

So the 300+ foot 40 inch monstrosity gives a crap about the yipping insects at it's feet?
That just seems silly to me.
10 Void Shields, and 36 Hull points.
Again that's what the Gal Vorbak are for.

Your going to need some help with this.

What you are going to want to do is look up the local Chapter for Society for Creative Anachronism in your local area.

You're then going to have to contact someone who does 3D printing.

You'll also need to contact Forgeworld and get rules for your own Imperator Titan.

What you are going to do is get your friend that you've made from the SCA to dress up in Full Plate. You'll print out some Imperial Eagles and put them on him. It'd be prefer that you paint him something that will wash off.

Before your friends get there with their army and Titan get your friend to climb on top of the table and stand motionless on the table with his broadsword.

Once the game starts declare that you are assaulting their Imperator Titan with your Imperator Titan. Once that happens you'll want to roll your assault range. Your friend in painted disguised "imperator" armour with then move quickly forward with his Broadsword and smash their model.

That's how you should beat them.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

I implied with the Imperator player having 2500 fewer points that the opposing player could have anything but a separate Imperator.

"Good luck, I'm behind 10 Void Shields!" doesn't work against this.

8 Eldar Cobras are useful as well. But these can be assaulted by the Gal Vorbak

You seemed to have missed the part where your opponents model isn't a person wearing Imperator Titan armor that just wants to smash the thing to bits. XD

That said, definitely a winning strategy. Especially if you're friend is a dwarf or something, and you can make it look really convincing that he is just another model standing on the table. Imagine the looks on your enemies face when this person suddenly runs across the table and kicks their titan across the room, then lets out a bellowing "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!"

Winning.

Now, admittedly, I don't know the rules for the Gal Vorbak. However, I do have to wonder what in the world they could do to stop an alpha strike which fires off 140+ Preferred Enemy Melta Rounds after deep striking... And once the Titan blows up, I believe they'll be quite injured by explosion since they were inside it. (Could you direct me to the rules for a Gal Vorbak?)
With 10 Void Shields and 36 Hull Points, it's toast against a Melta Volley of 15 of those squads.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Amendment: I found what appears to be the appropriate rules for Gal Vorbak. 2 Wounds, T5, Daemon rule, 2 Rending Attacks base, etc. etc.
Taking a S10 AP2 hit will kill 2/3rds of the guys inside, assuming average armor saves. Then you've got 13 or 14 Gal Vorbak sitting around, who are definitely a threat, but nothing that you can't handle.

Army of necrons deep striking via monoliths. 8000 Points of necron warriors and a few monoliths to teleport them will easily kill most titans we have used. Although one this big has not yet been used but in theory it should work.

Do you mean something a year and a half ago, that still didn't have jack gak on an Imperator?
Here's an idea: Deepstriking An'ggrath the Unbound produced from a deepstiked Cultist, given support by 3+ Bloodthirsters produced from Heralds, and with a Reaver acting as the ultimate Distraction, and with deepstriking melta squads to add on to the pressure.
Would that work?
