Teach me the ways of Chaos Terminators.

I am running them in a themed Death Guard list, so Mark of Nurgle is mandatory. Other than that, I have 5 available care of Forgeworld, along with Typhus.

How should I run them? Minimum squad of 3 with two combi-meltas? Should I put a fist in there? Or a full squad of 5 fully kitted up? Or 5 barebones with combi-meltas and maybe one fist?

9 Terminators with a even mix of weaponry, a Icon of Excess and then a Chaos Sorcerer who's rolling on Sanctic in order to give them either , Hammerhand, Sanctuary , or Gate of Infinity.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

Either 4 with lances and combi-flamers/melta (flamers if you fear a counter charge, melta if you want to kill a transport then charge the guys inside. Lances because you should always get the charge out of a LR, and Typhus brings the AP2) and Typhus in a LR or squads of 3 unmarked with combi-plasma/melta and power mauls or axes. No swords as they are the least versatile power weapons.

The worst part about 40k is that my models don't hug me back.

Yeah my experiences with terminators is that the power swords are very underwhelming. the mauls are nice cause strength 6 is never a bad thing and the axes are great because they are ap2 strength 5. The other bonus to axes on termies is that they have the survivability required to make going at initiative 1 not suicidal. Mark of nurgle makes them that much tougher overall aswell.

I typically leave them very bare short of maybe a chainfist. Combi weapons aren't bad either but they are very dependant on who you are fighting, the points on them ain't ridiculous to spend for some one shot flamers or meltas, I almost never take plasmas on them a my chosen squad is the one that uses combi-plasmas.

It depends what army you are facing. I play versus eldar only pretty much. Normally I deep strike three combimeltas. But jinks makes it too unreliable. So I have given up on deep strike. Could still be good vs other armies. I'd say run them in land raider with typhus is your only option. How else is typhus going to get to battle anyways? Deep strike is too unreliable for housing that many points. Land raider is much better in 7th edition too. For the termies I'd say give them combination meltas for the possibility of popping a tank and assaulting the insides. If your opponent has a lot of armor and toughness add power fists as appropriate. Remember that with 7th rules typhus can break off from the squad when they exit. You can also exit two different exit points and attack different units. Or even leave one unit inside land raider if you wish. For added survivability I run at least two rhinos to provide mobile 4+ cover for the land raider. But that might be less necessary now with the new rules.

If i run three i take them with 2 combimelta, a powerfist, an ax and a maul. That way their melee attacks can all pen on vehicles and they get a couple of combi melta shots off. 130pts

Otherwise i would say model em up to accompany Typhus in a landraider. Outfit em so that they crush stuff in close combat. maybe a couple of combi flamers so you can crisp the enemy before charging.

It's a general consensus amongst Chaos Space Marine players that Chaos Terminators are suicidal Combi-Plasma / Melta expendable units.

Clocking in at 105 points with simple Combi-Plasma/Melta thats all you really need. Anything added is pretty much a waste for a unit that is meant to drop in, destroy a vehicle or enemy 2+ model, double their points in destroyed units and then soak up fire.

If you are looking for their CC weapon load out, simply outfit them with Power Axes as everything else is a waste. We get free power weapons of our choice, from Swords, Axes, Lances and Mauls. The best of them is the Axe simply because of its AP value of 2. Being a free CC AP2 weapon that you don't need to buy a Power Fist on is EXTREMELY cost efficient. So if you survive your drop, nuke something and happen to get into CC with someone or your opponent takes a chance at sending a unit into CC with them, you can at the very least, kill enemy Terminators and their Equivalent.

Life: An incomprehensible, endless circle of involuntary self-destruction.
