Ok so I should start by mentioning that I want this to be a very fluffy list. Obviously I still want it to be competitive, but I will be playing mostly casual games.

Also, I plan on using quite a lot of Forge World Heresy Death Guard stuff, I just love the look of the terminators (both grave warden and deathshroud) and the mark III legion marines. So in the end, I want my army to look like a early post Horus Heresy army (classic creamy white and green colors) where the corruption and the mutation have just started to take place. I always found that most 40k Death Guard armies have just too much mutations on them, I think having less means the corruption will stand out a lot more.


Alright with that said, here's a list of ideas I had for the army:

- Contemptor dreadnought (already have the DG one, looks awesome, I bought a auto-canon for it but I'm open to suggestion)
- Deadshroud or Grave warden terminators (both would be perfect!). Deathshroud can stand in as normal power sword termies (with combi-flamer) and Grave warden can stand in as powerfist+combi-bolter termies (with 1 heavy flamer)....Or I could mix both together and have 7 of them.
- Typhus obviously! such a great character, I'll be using the FW Typhon model though
- Plague Marines. I know it's one of the best and most iconic CSM unit, but I don't want to spam them like most DG army list, I want diversity !
- Chaos Space Marines. I'd like at least one unit that can look like HH legion marines...
- I have the CSM part of the Dark Vengeance set, so I'd like to used them as much as possible (though the lord could become the 7th chosen)
- Mantic zombies are really nice
- I don't want any damn heldrake, so tired of seeing them, plus I hate the model...Maulerfiend are awesome though, even though I'm not sure they would be very useful in a DG list
- I was thinking of the aegis defense line, never tried fortifications in a list and I think it would make sense in this one to reduce vehicle and add minimum anti-air. Also, If I had to keep one unit to man a quad gun, what should I take, cultists or CSM ?
- Nurgle sorcerer is tempting with the new psychic phase, maybe on a bike? I heard chaos bikers with MoN are awesome, maybe add a unit?
- Units of 7 only would be nice
- I know there's quit a lot of elite unit that I'm looking at, but I can always add multiple detachment to solve this problem (or ally with CSM...can we do that?)

So yeah I think that's it lol...I know it's a LOT to ask, but try building a semi-competitive list with most of those ideas! I know it's hard :p

The North

a) Typhus with Deathshroud in a Landraider (an expensive transport but ensures they arrive reasonably in one piece) - Alternatively Deep Strike in Typhus with the Terminators (be prepared to suffer a round of shooting or possible mishap).
Alternatively:
b) Typhus with zombies (using zombies as a wound sink)

c) x2 Plague Marine squads (x7 marines) with x2 Plasma Rifles in a rhino

d) Chaos Marines on an Aegis Defence Line (Quad Gun) for AA if you wish to avoid the Heldrake

e) Havocs with Rocket Launchers / Flakk for AA / AT for the above reason

f) Cultists (standard CC weapons) in a blob (30+) with attached Dark Apostle (if not using Zombie rules and wanting more speed) - Surprising number of dice on the charge

g) Chaos Spawn - ugly models, just like Nurgle wanted with the Mark of Nurgle (Toughness 6!) act as a great distraction / meatshield / beatstick depending on how used

h) Chaos Bikes with Mark of Nurgle (Toughness 6 again!) with Plasma Rifles / Melta Guns

i) Maulerfiend with x2 Magma Cutters. Personally, I love the thing and any vehicles it reaches don't make it past that turn. Remember, it's a beast, ignores terrain and is 'effing quick off the mark. It has a 5+ inv save AND regenerates HP on a 5+

a) I'll be deepstriking my terminators, LR are too pricey

c) defenitely will go with 2 Plague Marine squads, both should I gear both squads with plasma or equip one of them with melta ? maybe plasma gun + melta bomb combo ?

d) will do

e) I thought about including havoks for AA, but are 4 RL really that good against flyers? never used them before.

f) or i thought maybe I could keep them in reserve and have them take back objectives in later turns

g) can't stand having those models really

h)not very fluffy but yeah bike with meltaguns would be nice
